Planet Illogica Teams Up w/ Sick Puppies to Support Animals

Alternative rock group, Sick Puppies, have been working together with the Pi founders to participate in philanthropic and community events. Sick Puppies and Pi Founder Tonny Sorensen combined forces in 2007 to support animal rescue efforts. Sorensen has hosted benefits for this cause, and Sick Puppies have played live acoustic music. Over the past two years, Planet Illogica and Sick Puppies have maintained this cooperative spirit and are beginning the process of planning future events.

If you haven't heard of this Australian modern rock trio, you may have seen the groundbreaking "Free Hugs" video, which has attracted almost 45 million views on YouTube.com since September 2006. The "Free Hugs" video, which accompanied the band’s song "All The Same," earned Sick Puppies exposure on Oprah, Jay Leno, 60 Minutes and CNN. The 3-minute video follows a man with a Free Hugs banner that elicits a positive, emotional and humorous response from nearly everyone who encounters it. The police were not so receptive, however, and the last portion of the video chronicles a petition signing process. This video demonstrates the true spirit of community as people came together in what can only be described as inspirational and awe inspiring. Planet Illogica continues to collaborate with Sick Puppies and recently participated in a promotional event celebrating the July 14th release of their second album, "Tri-Polar." The launch party for the album took place at the famed Capitol Tower on July 7th and two of Pi Founders, Tonny Sorensen and Ken Goldstein, offered their support.

"Free Hugs" is not the only project to adapt Sick Puppies' music. Their first single, "You're Going Down" was used as a promotional theme song for WWE and a track from their new album is being used for the Street Fighter IV video campaign.

That's really awesome! Bet people will make cracks about the irony of it though...you know supporting animals by: sick puppies...lol i thought it was funny.
