Sick Puppies blast Dos Amigos

Sick Puppies frontman Shimon Moore realized his passion for music back when the King of Pop ruled the world.
"Michael Jackson was the first concert I ever went to," said Moore. "I didn't realize what music really was until that experience."
And as the Sick Puppies are sprouting up to be one of the big dog bands of the rock world, Moore's also experiencing the double edge of fame.
"My favorite thing is when fans get tattoos of lyrics," said Moore. "I like the concept."
What is difficult to get used to is walking around and being recognized by fans, he added. While being greeted by fans who want autographs and photo opportunities with the band is pretty cool, there are some rockers just a little stranger than others.
"This guy just sat there for an hour, or an hour and a half, you know just sitting in front of me staring at me," he said. "He would ask me questions and tell me about his mom and dad and he told me his life story basically. It's totally fine to be recognize and it's always cool, but it was just weird because this guy didn't want anything like an autograph. He just sat there and talked and talked and talked, and I didn't know what to say because it wasn't a conversation, it was more one-sided."
The Australian band made up of Moore, Mark Goodwin and Emma Anzai find that fans are their biggest inspiration. The band even looks to the fans via their website to poll them weekly about what they like in a concert or what they want in an album; what they don't like as well as what they think the band should cut.
"The fans, the fans are the most important thing," said Moore.
So far the band has been cranking out the albums for fans with CD's like their first major-label studio album, "Dressed Up as Life" and its follow-up, "Tri-Polar."
When asked if the band went into the studio to record their second major-label album with a touch of the sophomore curse, Moore quickly said they had not, they actually went into the project with even more confidence and more material than the first.
"It's broader and heavier," said Moore comparing "Tri-Polar" to "Dressed up as Life." "When it's lighter, it's lighter and there's a lot more subject matter. We definitely focused on the words more. It was just probably more focused."
The band's music also delves into the virtual realm as they've written a song for Street Fighter IV and more recently have come out with an acoustic album called "Polar Opposite," which was released last March.
As for what's on the horizon for the Sick Puppies, Moore said after this tour is up, they'll take a little break and be back in the studio as early as the end of the year.
