Do you have any unique Free Hugs stories?

I have only been a part of the free hugs movement since this week when I received my Free Hugs shirt. I'm a freshman in college right now, and I'm a pretty shy/reserved guy. One of my classmates that I hardly talk to outside of class saw my shirt and she apparently loves Sick Puppies too! Needless to say, I got a hug from her. It was quite the ice breaker. Lol. What are your stories?

That's awesome that she knew and loved the band. I wore a free hugs shirt and got probably 20 hugs and one guy actually said thank you and told me it made his day even though he was feeling down. Nothing too special but shows the power of the free hugs campaign.
I also showed someone the free hugs campaign video yesterday and he said, "You can't watch this without just smiling, ya know?"
Really does make a difference

I wear my shirt at least once a week lol, it's kind of how I'm known at my new job now, the free hugs guy. Was pretty funny the other day in Walmart, girl came SPRINTING across the store and almost tackled me. Her boyfriend looked really confused then she just pointed and said "free hugs...had to" and walked away all casual.

I was wearing a Free Hugs shirt at a "The band that shall not be named" concert and gave out a bunch of hugs. Another time when I was in NYC walking through Times Square this guy was holding a Free Hugs sign and I went up and hugged him. I have a picture somewhere of it, but I can't find it at the moment.

We did a Free Hugs Campaign a couple summers ago!!! What an experience!!! We went for almost an hour with ppl just staring and pointing and then we started to get tacked


I was behind the camera most of the time. The redhead is my daughter and the other is my stepdaughter, you see a gimpse of me getting a hug or two though. Good times.

My mom never understood my fascination with rock/metal music and tattoos but fortunately we have an outstanding relationship. She's a country gal and for the most part a traditional, simple, caring person.
I FINALLY got to go see her for Mother's Day (a week late, she lives an hour away) and we were talking about music and my love for Sick Puppies and the meaning behind all my SP tattoos. As many of you know, I have 'All The Same' tattooed on my chest and got to show her the Free Hugs video for the very first time...she was crying at the end and said 'I knew I raised a good son!' That was a very proud moment for me so we hugged it out for several minutes! Awesome!

I am a big fan of garden gnomes. I am also a fan of rock festivals. This year I went to Rockfest in Kansas City. It's the largest one day rock festival in the US, 55,000 people. It's an insane amount of people. It's also very welcoming to people who want to let their freak flags fly. I decided to where my gnome outfit.

I ran into two people with big Free Hugs signs and got a picture with one of them.

This one's kind of free hugs, but with slightly different wording
Me and three friends went to a convention that happened just this weekend, and my one friend Mia bought a giraffe zip-up pajama suit thing and wore it all weekend, and today she brought a sign with her that said "Hug the giraffe" and she was getting so many hugs from it
Normally this convention has a rule about signs and solicitation but even the volunteers were having a laugh about it. Except this one guy who followed us around the dealer's room to make her take it off, but outside of the convention center (the con spans the center, an attached hotel, and the grounds surrounding) nobody else bothered her about it.

I'm hoping to have some cool stories in a couple weeks, I'm going to a free hugs meetup with a bunch of other people. Going to stop by the craft store tomorrow to buy supplies to make my sign

THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! So many hugs! Though it was funny... you'd get a string of wary people, and then one person would go for the hug, and then -everyone- else around also wanted a hug. Some of them even started hugging each other, hehe.

Oh and we were asked to leave the square by one of the restaurant owners who apparently didn't like that we could be seen by the patrons on the restaurant terrace. That was interesting... but he caved eventually. Meanwhile at another restaurant, some of the patrons were hanging over the terrace railing for hugs, haha.

I have over 200 photos on my camera, so I'm hoping to patch them together and make a recap video for Youtube with them. Going to take me awhile to process that many photos and make a video though. Even got a short clip of two people re-enacting the flying hug from the original free hugs video

If anyone has a live recording of All The Same that I can use for my video PLEASE let me know! I have one in my collection, but the audio isn't as clear as I'd like. You will of course be included on the credits!
