Like Katy said, it usually takes a little time to be added to the World Crew... But you have to make sure to watch your inbox for the verification email too. I think you have to be verified a total of three times? I could be wrong... But I just helped my boyfriend sign up too and couldn't figure out why he wasn't showing up as a World Crew member then figured out there was another verification that needed to be clicked
After that, you can even look into becoming an Ambassador. That's a LOT of fun! Everything you need to know should be in the FAQ section... Otherwise, you can send me a PM and I'd be happy to help!
