Hello everyone.

Being a member of a couple other forums, I believe it extremely rude of me to have been a member of this community since July 11 and I'm just now making my first post three weeks later. So, since it's the beginning of a new month, I'll start it off right by introducing myself. (After all, I might need to make some friends here, given that I'll most likely be seeing the band this month).

For now, you all can call me DeathDealer or Roadie, because I don't like revealing my real name right off the bat. I've been a fan of the Sick Puppies since 2007, when they opened for Evanescence (my favorite band at the time). One of my best friends bought "Dressed Up As Life" for me for Christmas and ever since them, I've always loved the band's music. And currently, I cannot get enough of "Tri-Polar" and I have immense love and respect for the band. A lot of that is the direct result of having the privilege of being their "roadie for a day." You never really get to know a band until you see what they're like behind-the-scenes, lol.

I'm in the process of trying to write an in-depth report of my experience that day but there's much detail that I have to recall and record, so I'm cursing my need for perfection right now. However, until that's completed, anyone and everyone feel free to ask me questions about it and I'll be more than happy to answer. (Perhaps that'll get my creative juices flowing, haha.)

OMG if I wasn't jealous before, I DEFINITELY am now!!! Sounds like an AMAZING thing to win! I haven't had a chance to watch the videos yet, but I look forward to it

Can you elaborate more on why it was banned and why it can only be played live?

^ Well, Shim said it was banned worldwide because they changed the arrangement of the song and supposedly when you do a cover, you have to do an exact representation of the original song but if you change the arrangement, you have to get permission from all the songwriters. Apparently there were eleven songwriters that worked on "Say My Name" and one of them chose not to clear SP's version and thus it got banned.

I'm guessing the vulgar language probably didn't help, lol (i.e. "Just shut the f**k up and say my name b***h!"). Yeah... Shame on Shim =P

So now they only play it at live; I just listened to the interview again and I guess Shim didn't exactly say why it can only be played at the concerts. *edits her post* But I must admit that their live version of SMN is definitely much better than the studio version they recorded. Check out the video that I recorded of SMN that's on my YouTube channel! The quality is pretty darn good, in my opinion.

Definitely sounds like you had an amazing day I haven't had the chance to sit and watch the videos but hope to do so soon - thanks for posting them !

I saw in one of the concert threads that you mentioned Mark handing you his drumstick. Well, I was lucky enough to get one too, lol---James and Elena were kind enough to give me as many on-stage goodies as they could when the show was over. (For example, that black pick on the necklace is Emma's actual pick that she used to play bass with that night! I have it on a prettier silver chain now and wear it every single day. I'm actually thinking about having her sign it when I see the Pups again.)
