I hadn't heard Sick Puppies' music until I went to see Breaking Benjamin in concert. I'm really glad I got there extra-early, because I got to see the whole thing. I was surprised at how much the Puppies rocked. It was amazing. They started out with War, and I was very impressed. Shim's vocals were really aggressive when they weren't angelic, and you could tell Mark was getting into it. And I have never seen any girl rock out as hard as Emma did/does. Ever. Afterward, they had a meet-and-greet thing at a table in the lobby, but I was up in the front, and I wasn't about to give up my spot before Breaking Benjamin went on, so I didn't go back there. Later on, as I was finally out at the tables getting my BB shirt, I was wondering if the other bands were also meeting their fans at a table somewhere. As I asked around, I saw one of my friends who works at the venue and asked him. He didn't know, so I asked if Sick Puppies were still around somewhere. He pointed out where they'd been, but said they were probably gone by then. He then added that he'd gotten a hug from the bassist. I was like "Wow, you lucky punk!" Only afterward did I find out that pretty much everyone gets free hugs from the band because they got big while backing the Free Hugs Campaign. But I still am bent on getting that free hug the next time they're in town. Which will be soon. Yeeeeess, veeery soon.
Oh... was that singular? I meant hugs from the band, plural. XD Not that you could blame me anyway... Amiright? (I look forward to hugging you soon! *does fake ninja moves at Emma*)But yeah. I'm a bit of a music-ish guy myself. I'm majoring in the Japanese language, but I've also been getting somewhat inspired to put that aside and go for a career in music. We'll see how it works out. In the meantime, I'm translating anime under this same screen name for a fansubbing group. (When I'm not playing music and video games. Or musical video games. Like Guitar Hero/Rock Band. I freaking love those.)
