Where to start....My name's Phoenix and I live in the small town of Brownwood, TX. Very few people here know who Sick Puppies are (sad day). I do the best that I can to educate my friends. lol. I'm a sophomore at Howard Payne University here in Brownwood and really enjoy it.

I was introduced to Sick Puppies in 2006 and immediately fell in love with them. They mean a lot to me because in the nearly 5 years that I have been listening to the Pups, I have gone through many chaotic instances in my life. The music that the Pups have written have helped keep me going and have even become my anthems. These songs include Riptide and Maybe.

I would love to keep writing however class is over.

Haha, I love that you wrote this while you were in class! Most of my friends don't know about Sick Puppies, so I try to educate them too. A lot of the lyrics in their songs have really helped me that past couple years too, especially My World and Maybe.

It is sad. Many of my friends still don't know who Sick Puppies is yet either. Seriously I talk about them a lot so I don't get it Geez my parents even know who they are (and they live in another state) although my dad does call them the Sick Dogs

Today my mom called me about something and she asked who someone was on my Facebook page (I still have no clue who she was talking about). She was like "Well they comment on your posts all the time so I figured they were another fan-a-maniac."

I guess small strides are better than no strides on introducing the band to people.

I'm sorry your in Brownwood. Yes I know where it is and occasionally drive thru. Not that Lubbock is that much better, but at least you have trees. Welcome and keep education the sick puppies-less!! some day they will know what they are missing?

I feel you, I live in Bonham Tx (small town) and I've never run into ANYONE else that knows who the pups are (unless I've told them.)

Wow I didnt expect this kind of response. I've actually been part of the world crew for almost a year now (if not more) I just never had the time to get on.

This small town really does suck and I would love to have more people to talk about the pups with. My crush's reaction to me telling him that Sick Puppies dropped a new album was priceless. He's like "you listen to sick puppies. You're twisted!!!!! More so than I thought." lol it was funny.

Oh and Hollee, I'm taking you up on that offer. I go to the Dallas area from time to time. We can go crash a show or to.

And I dont remember who said the comment about my name (I just happened to notice Hollee's) but thank you. I feel that Rock music will save the world one of these days. People just need to realize that rock is good and accept it. I find it therapeutic.

Riptide has become my anthem lately. I dated this guy and he told me I'd be nothing without him and that he made me and I'd become an alcoholic if I left him. He wanted to change me when we were together. But you know what, it's my life. I'll live it the way I want and I dont let others influence my life. Its great.

Didn't realize we had this many people who hit up dallas shows, we'll have to all meet up at the nxt one

I managed to educate my former roommate on Wednesday. We go to a private baptist university so we have chapel every week (i actually enjoy it quite a bit. i'd heard it was terrible). She had been laughing at me the day before because I was jumping up and down like a little girl squealing because I had just picked up Polar Opposite. She knows about sick puppies (share a dorm room with me for even a week and you'll know every song lol. Imagine August to December) so she wasnt thrilled about a new album with more songs for me to ramble about. Then I told her the concept n she just rolled her eyes and called me a dork. Well Wed, I convinced her to listen to White Balloons. She was blown away and thoroughly enjoyed what she got to hear of it (she was listening as she was walking to class). I think I may just convert her to one of us lol
