A long-time friend & amazing on bass, Dave is the nephew of Jaco Pastorius, the first well-known musician to play a fretless bass (in the 1970s). Dave didn't start playing until his teens, but he's definitely got the gift - the man always makes it look so simple, no matter how complicated the riff. (As of yet, I'm the only person who's ever managed to get a photo of him smiling during a set, LOL!)

i play bass myself too, but if i see him play i need to practice a lot more 
But i can only play in the weekends and it is just too short for becoming that good. Most of the time when i am at a concert i always look at the bass player

Dave's just a natural, one of those people that the music just flows through.
One of our best friends is as equally talented, being one of the best & well-known drummers on the east coast of Florida - but Tom can play any instrument. At least every one that he's encountered to date. It's "disgusting."
I play a little of several instruments (guitar, bass, drums...), but I play by ear. I took music lessons when I was about 12 & HATED them. My mom finally let me quit. I never lost my interest in music, but it took several years for my "ear" to come back.
(My musician friends all refer to me as a 'non-performing' musician.)

That's so cool! I love Jaco Pastorious, and it's cool to see that someone in his family has his talent. It's crazy how different it is from Jaco's music, but still the same.
