I find music in a lot of ways. Here are the most common ones:
I put on Pandora, Music Choice, etc. and look up any songs I hear that I like.
My friends often suggest some great songs for me.
There's several bands that I hear people talk about all the time, so sometimes I just go onto Youtube or something and look them up.
I often look up bands that my favorite bands recommend/support/go on tour with/etc.
If I really like one song by a band, I'll go to the store, buy the whole album, and listen to the rest of the songs on it.

Now I'm stuck here,
Trapped all alone.
But it's not my time,
I don't want to go.
You can't take me,
Break free these chains.
You can't have me,
I want to live again.

I find lots of bands on MusicChoice. I put my tv on the rock channel while I'm on the computer, and when I hear a song I like, I look them up. That's how I found Sick Puppies!

My theory is as such....70 year-olds of today swing dance at weddings, so at 70 we'll be moshing and head banging in walkers to Rage.

My boyfriend always has his iPod on in his car whenever we're going somewhere, so I get a lot of stuff through him. He was actually the one who bought Dressed Up As A Life at the first SP concert we went to, and I started listenening to them through him.
I also find a lot of random stuff on Youtube..
Or if I hear something I like on the radio I type the lyric into my phone and check it out later, and look at other songs by that band.

..and i'm drowning in the ashes; kicking, screaming. <3

well i find new music on my playstation 3  i am using Vidzone alot cause you can make your own playlist and you don't have to download the songs, witch is most of the time illegal. so this is not illegal and i discoverd sick puppies on it and bought immediately Dressed up as life!! and there is also a possibility to choose a tv channel with your fav kind of music. Maybe you have that on your own tv, but here in europe we don't have that channels. only a dutch mtv witch suck because they almost don't play songs!

It's different. Sometimes I know about a band for a long time already but never really cared about them. Like...Linkin Park. I listened to their songs on the radio, I heared about them, when they made songs for soundtracks like Transformers or Twilight and my brother has been a fan of them for ages. One day I just started being a fan of them and listened to their CDs and so on...Now I don't really know how I found out about them, cause I heared about them on so many different ways.
It's just...like you know a band for ages and one day you just realize how great they are...
There are many other ways I found new music, so here are some examples:
Paramore - From Twilight (A shame, I know^^)
Sick Puppies - Radio
Dead By Sunrise - Radio and ... Linkin Park^^
The same with Fort Minor
Papa Roach - Wikipedia (Yeah, one of the most stupid ways, I guess^^ I typed ''Nu-Metal Bands'' in Google, and I found a list on Wikipedia  )

Um...I'm talking too much. To sum up: In different ways, often radio.

The way I used to find new music was I would go on itunes and use the radio and switch back and forth from a couple of the rock stations. That's how I found Rip Tide. Nowadays, I'll go on the itunes store and look up a certain band I've heard about and listen to some of their songs. If I buy a song, a thing comes up that suggests other songs and I always check those out. I keep a running list on my computer of potentially good songs. Also, a lot of the older stuff on my itunes (older as in I've had those songs longer) is stuff I stole from my brother and sister or a cd that my mom gave to me.

I suppose I'm kinda old-school with this - I go to random shows. We have a GREAT venue here that's not too far from my place (less than $10 for a taxi if I've had a bit too much) and go to see stuff all the time. Tickets are usually less than $20, and there's always something going on. Devildriver is playing there on the 7th, I'm seriously looking forward to that. :evillaugh:

Also, metalunderground.com and wikipedia. I know, I know, but if you look up a band, the entry will dump whatever band into a genre, and you can click on a "list of (insert genre here) bands" - then it's time for Youtube, Pandora, LastFM, Slacker, etc.

Well I use to go on Hot Topic . com back when they weren't colorful and would listen to all the music on that radio station online they had so much Gothic Techno which I fell in love with. Back in the day when I was 13 I would go on MSN music videos and look at the rock or death metal sections and watch music videos of random bands and amazingly I found some bands I never would of found out about anywhere else

A lot of groups I listen to now I found on Fuse when that was purely a rock channel, now I normally just find it through statuses or links from friends of mine on Facebook though.

Yea Fuse was great I remember watching the music video I'm So Sick by Flyleaf and thats how I heard them like 4 years before they hit big time and everyone thought that song came out the year it got big. I laughed so hard at my friend when she said it was new. I also saw the Tattoo stories of Avenged Sevenfold and there awesome tattoos I think their set up crew guy who is one of their closest friends had all their faces tattooed on him and Syn said something sarcastic and the guy was like ill cover up your face... It was funny

Well, like others have said, Pandora, Word of Mouth, Google, things like that. Friends of mine have actually gotten me into almost all of my favorite bands, a handful I got from the radio, but mostly friends. Or Pandora. I also like clicking on Suggested Videos on Youtube, if it's a band I've never heard before. But a lot of the music I listen to hasn't made the "Best __ music" things yet, for some..strange...reason, so googling like that wouldn't work to find similar tastes, at least not for me. By Google, I mean like sometimes I'll go to google a word, or phrase, or something, and a random band pops up...and I'm just like checking them out and stuff. The only band though off hand I got into via google was Tristania though, cause I was searching for Sirenia and some Tristania members formed Sirenia and I read that in one of the snippets that appear with the results. :D But yeah...that's more or less how I find new music. Occasionally radio, but our rock station has gotten where it plays a lot of crap, so I don't listen to it that often, I'll flip to it, if I don't like the song after like 10 seconds, I change the station. Haha.

I Hear about most Bands kinda in kinda the standard way, Youtube, Radio stations, etc... an my siblings, but I have actually gotten a surprising amount of music from WWE themes for various pay-per-views. That's actually were I first heard most of my favourites too. Where I first heard Skillet, Rev Theory, and even Sick Puppies.
