OK, my friend found out the first one this morning, and the other has been out there for a while. Anybody have anything to say on the matter.

This happens alot with music. If it were the lyrics I think it would be a much bigger deal. Heck the Scotty doesn't know song is incredibly similar to Nirvana's Sliver

It does happens a lot all the time, but mostly with the Top 40/pop songs. Which isn't surprising...

Oh how I love a good debate.
Lots of artists do remake type songs...even if it is only bits and pieces. The term stole is a littl eove rht etop as we don't know if she had permission to use anything or not. I'm not going out and buying her music for myself, but I do have an 11 yr old girl in my life who thinks the world of her, and I'm glad she looks up to her rather than some of these other people out there. And for a 15/16 yr old I think she's got some talent.

Your second example is a bit more similar than Miley and Natalie but Britney did the same exact thing on her album "Oop...I Did It Again". I can't remember the tracks or the song titles but if you listen to the title track plus one later on the CD, they start the same exact way. If you ask me, it is bound to happen because how many people are writing songs out there? Eventually you're bound to come across the same chords that someone else did.

HAHA I wouldn't actually call those songs.. just pop crap so yea I could see that happening. All of that type of song sounds the same with all the same type of lyric. Britney is still my guilty pleasure music haha..

Carrie Underwood...need I really say more. I think I've only heard one of her songs that didn't sound the same as all her others....now that's sad
