Have you read the books? Have you seen the movie trailer?

Who else is sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for the movie to come out?

I would like to dedicate the song "Revenge" by Chevelle to Katniss Everdeen!

I ended up reading all three books just because my friend showed me the trailer and it looked pretty darned awesome XD
Definitely excited for the movie. It comes out... March 23rd right? Me and my sis are going to see it on a Sunday though. Theaters are less crowded on Sunday, less screaming fangirls, less chance of me falling asleep in the middle for it being at 12 AM :p

I read the books about a year ago, but I'm a little undecided on whether I want to watch the movie or not, mainly because the books were not the greatest, and there is a history of the current books in pop-culture usually leading to a below average movie at best.

I'm being optimistic though, and I'm sure it will be a decent movie. although I don't have the same optimism for the next two.

I didn't read any of the books yet, but everyone keeps telling me I must. I will definitely read the first one before seeing the movie, though. The movie does look really good.

I really love the books! I can't wait to finally see the movie next week!

When I read the books, especially the first one, I couldn't even put it away, I just had to keep reading to know how the story ends. It's been a while I read any book I couldn't put away.
I can definitely suggest these books to read them :)

I am a nerd - I went to the midnight show. Stanley Tucci and Elizabeth Banks are amazing :D
A few things are different from in the books, but I liked it and felt like it translated into a movie pretty well. Go see it!*

*not like I have to say so, because it looks like everyone in the country is already planning to! :P

I'm going to see it this Sunday. I'm working on Catching Fire, but sadly school is keeping me from doing too much with that one (such is the life of an English major, I suppose).
Can't wait for it! :D

Saw it this past Sunday morning. Agreed with kakugori, it wasn't one of those book-movie things that you see the movie and its like "they ruined it." They left some stuff out, but whatever they took out was pretty much for the sake of keeping the movie from getting overcomplicated. They only added small things, but it wasn't random pointless things. Going from book to movie needs a bit of tweaking- and with The Hunger Games, a lot of the stuff is explained from Katniss's 1st person narrating, and they couldn't have Jennifer Lawrence stare into the camera for 30 straight minutes having a monologue. So they have to exclude some things, or use other means to explain things.
I don't think this is at all a spoiler so I'll say it- I thought it was clever how they used Caesar and Claudius' commentary as a way to explain what the Tracker Jackers are, since Katniss explains them in the book.

Well as an outlet this week from all the stuff going on in my life, I finally ordrered them from Amazon. The first 2 arrived Tuesday and the last Thursday. I read the first soo quickly and couldn't put it away. It just captivated me right from the start! Read the second even quicker (overall time around 7 hours). Then last night I just needed to get out so duh, I went to see the Hunger Games lol. WOW! I was not disappointed in the slightest! I thought it was very good, definitely not overly done, and I loved the point of view that they told the story from and showed things going on outside of the games. I thought it added to the drama/action/excitement of it.

I now have to begin/finish Mockingjay and I guarantee that it will be finished by the end of the weekend, if not the end of the day lol.

Finally saw the movie today! LOVED it, I think it stayed very true to the book. :)

I'm reading Catching Fire now, I never like to buy hardback books so one of my girls (that I coach) loaned me hers. I honestly can't put it down, at the rate I'm going I'm gonna have to break down & buy Mockingjay tomorrow, lol.

So, I just saw it yesterday. Loved it.
It really did stick to the book quite a bit, although (spoiler, possibly?) I'm not sure if i liked the way Katniss got the mockingjay pin in the movie...
and there's 2 new dresses I want, teehee :P

Haha yes I agree they stayed very true to the book for once! There were only some small changes like with the Mockingjay pin, but no real big changes.

Saw the movie twice now already, and I can't wait till I can see it again! ;) Think I'll start reading the books again, but I'm still looking for a nice hardcover set. Don't want my paperbacks to fall apart.
