Where Are You Now

This is a poem/song I wrote about a person who is going through a really hard time in his life. He feels like he has nowhere to turn and asks for help from his only friend. But his friend doesn't want to help him and turns away. These lyrics are not directly autobiographical. I was just having an emotional moment and wanted to use the emotion to write something. I'm also practicing with rhyming and flow. Please let me know what you think.



If I were to die tonight,
Would you miss me at all?
If you knew I was leaving,
Would you ever say goodbye?
You say you're my friend,
But then tell me why
You're not there when I need you;
You're not there when I cry.

Where are you now?
Why aren't you here?
When I need you most,
You just disappear.

If I called out your name,
Would you look my way?
If I asked you to help,
Would you just walk away?
I call you my friend,
But I don't know why
You're not there when I need you;
