Conformity

At the school I go to I am one of probly 15 white people out of 3000 odd students yes three thousand.
And because of the racism around here they think that i hate them for some god forsaken reason.
Well i had a website with a coloubine joke yes i know i have a sick since of humor, but the school finds this and police drag me out of class and take me to the princple in the end the left me off after confiscating my journal with abut 4 plays( in witch murder was envolved) and took all my poetry( they said it was suicidal),
now i find out today that they no intention to return this stuff and wont even let me make copys. now this journal is the only place that thesse plays exist as i havent had time to copy the and same goes for the poetry. they also made me take down the website and gave and brand new dress code( try to stuff them in tight).
am i the only that thinks that this wrong or are there others with me?

Depending on what the plays were about, I think they should give them back.
I have to agree with the police(I don't like them...so...this is saying a lot) on their decision. They are trying to keep a safe school. Columbine isn't something to joke about, ESPECIALLY when you're in a high school.
I mean, it sucks that you had to go through it but be happy that your school at least cares about safety. My old school didn't.

The play wernt about death and yes i to agree with the police safety first and all that
but what my point was that the poems and plays werent suicidal are murder related they just read the first words and with out actualy thinking about it jumped to a conclusion
and the collobine joke didnt say that i was going to kill every one it was litterly a reference joke... you know like walking over a puddle of water on a dry day, then some one ask what happened there and you say ... Katrina

I get what you're saying about wanting your stuff back. Be happy you only lost your journal, my friend got his whole computer confiscated and never got it back.
You just kind of have to deal with it. :/

Sue. and that really sucks. Tell the police that they have violated your right to free speech and have performed an unlawful search and seizure, one that isn't justifiable based on current evidence. If they tell you that you don't know what you are talking about tell them you are willing to take it to court if they don't hand over your rightful belongings. If they say, let's do it, find a lawyer, tell him your story and enjoy a fun day in the courtroom.
Hope you get your stuff back.

Agreed, get a lawyer. At the very least, they are violating your first amendment rights. They can confiscate your books & laptop at school, but have no right to keep them from you. This especially sucks because it is your art, your creative expression.
Might want to keep the Columbine jokes to a minimum though!
