Road Trip
So me and my friends are planning a road trip for the summer (from Maine to California) and I know a lot of you live in the U.S. so what are some cool attractions/tips/resturants we should stop at?

Hahaha Dave
Yes there is quite a lot to do in The Black Hills, including Mt. Rushmore and Dinosaur Park. If you did that you'd have to drive through here too hahaha. Devil's Tower is not far over the Wyoming boarder from South Dakota.

Re: Road Trip
Depending on when you're going, and if it's a straight shot, or an actual US tour, if you're headed towards southeastern Wisconsin, probably the US biggest music festival is June 24-29/July 1-6

Re: Road Trip
Estes Park, CO
It's a small mountain town that has some great little shops, some fun festivals (I'm partial to the Highland Fest myself!) and fun things like taking the tram up to the top of a mountain and feeding squirrels peanuts.......! Also home of the Stanley Hotel if you're a fan of the Shining.
Also, Fort Collins, CO
If you're of legal age, the Colorado Brewer's Festival will be held here at the end of June, or fun for the whole family, the New West Fest will be here in August! Both are an awful lot of fun, big street festivals and the like!

Re: Road Trip
I don't really have much to offer travel-wise as I sadly haven't had much opportunity to travel myself, but my parents did this same sort of thing two years ago when they temporarily moved from New England to Washington state. They turned their drive out there into a sight-seeing roadtrip, and the one thing they RAVED about was Yellowstone.
If you're going a more southern route though, I really loved my family's vacation to southern Virginia. The drive down was pretty cool. We went by way of the Chesapeake bridge-tunnel, which is something like a 15-20 mile long bridge with two ~1 mile tunnels under the bay. Then once we got to Virginia, we took the scenic route along Blue Ridge Parkway, which was gorgeous. Virginia Beach was pretty cool (sadly for me, we picked a bad day to go weather-wise). If you like historical things, Colonial Williamsburg is pretty cool. My favorite part (aside from Busch Gardens, haha) were the caves though. We went to in Shenandoah National Park, home of "The Great Stalacpipe Organ" - the largest musical instrument in the world. Each key on the organ is rigged to a different stalactite around the cavern, it sounds really cool when they play it.

Re: Road Trip
I like Daves suggestions. I love the big attractions but I really enjoy the crazy off the wall things. Largest ball of twine, get out of the way museums, you know that stuff.
