I was looking for somewhere to vent about this....

Let me start by saying I don't follow politics, I will not be voting, I don't feel like I should, because I don't follow politics. As far as Obama goes, I don't mind if you don't want to vote for Obama, but for the love of God make it for the right reasons. The logic people come up with why they wont vote for Obama are just ludicrous. Beyond the fact that he's black, people (like my father) won't vote for him for stupid bullshit reasons like: "his middle name is Hussein," like SADDAM! Oh no, his middle name is the same as his last name! or, that his last name sounds like it has the word "bomb" in it. Or The fact his father was raised by a Muslim, because every Muslim is a suicide bomber.

You would be surprised how many people I run into, in my family and at Dunkin, who have that bigoted point of view. True story - one of the girls who finished near the top of my class (she got a free ride scholarship to Brown), told a friend of mine she doesn't want Obama to be elected because "He will have all of the tali-ban running our country." (what does that say about my senior class? :-/)

Knowing that people like this all over the country are going to be voting....... just a downside to democracy.

I almost want Obama to win, just because of all the nonsense he's facing.

That being said, I think McCain will win, I would like to see a Democrat win, so we can get our troops out of Iraq, since the reason they're over there in the first place is so Dubya can impress daddy. I just don't think the American people are ready to vote in a black, or woman president.

I would love to be proved wrong though.

it's very strange for me that how much the choice does not interest my country.Once there were an article about the election in the newspapers and than nothing.Not a word..But everybody is affected in this topic.How it is possible to show plain indifference towards the country that the most influential?I do not understand. America is super power and everything is in his hand.I still don't know when the election ends, who is winning.
It's a big neglect.
