Re: Post your non-human buddies!
Cera, she's so.... fluffy.. *inches away* Need I ask what MJ stands for?
budstud: cute dog! I recently just sheered my dog, but now he really feels like a sheep so I've got to get the razor out for a finishing touch. But he also appreciates it because of the heat, plus it was so itchy with all the mats and partial dreads. I'll have to get photo's up soon.
Becky: I love the first picture cause she's lying on the floor like them. Too cute.

If I were a vegetable, I'd be a radish, because I'm only kind of rad.

Haha! Apparently I made a totally different connection! I was thinking MJ like "Mary Jane" from the recent Spiderman movies. 'Cuz it's a spider... LOL!

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
The first MJ I thought of wasn't close to what any of you assumed. I was thinking more along the lines of Michael Jackson.

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
So, for those of you who do (or don't) remember, I am a vet tech. So, there's this kitten (22 weeks old) whom I had seen since 8 weeks old that everyone believed to have an immune problem. At 16 weeks old her tail began sloughing off and was almost completely dead on the end, and she had developed glaucoma (unusual for a cat, much less a YOUNG cat). She came in a couple weeks later because they were pretty sure that she had broken her leg and sure enough, she did. At that same appointment, we realized that her eye had ruptured from the glaucoma. Further examination revealed a fractured palate causing an opening from her mouth to her nasal cavity, all four canine teeth were broken, and the tissue that connected her lip to her gums was severed so her lip was just kind of "there." She was also not able to regulate her temperature (normal cat temperature is 100-102.5 and she was at 92...) so she was basically lifeless... There were many problems also, but these were her main concerns. So a week ago last Friday, she had surgery to have her ruptured eye removed, her tail amputated her palate repaired, her fractured teeth extracted, and a feeding tube placed because she was losing weight, which is the OPPOSITE of what a kitten should be doing. For such a risky surgery, she did great. She began gaining weight, became more alert - could even lift her head up and began eating small amounts on her own. I was seriously bubbling with happiness at her recovery.
Last night, I found out she died on Friday. My heart broke.
I just needed somewhere to put this... Release it somewhere...

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
OMG thats so sad..!
say, your a veterinarian of some sort...
i have a really important question for you,
(i hope its okay that i ask it.)
so my dog sammie is sick,
she had ate rug/or something,
and has been throwing up ever since.
now, she wont even eat..
ive been giving her smooth "treats"
like a little honey and a bit of my smoothie (strawberry and apple-juice with some water)
and thats about all she will eat..
do you know of any other thing we could do?
because id have to sell both my guitars for it to be removed,
and im not so fond of that idea.

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
Unfortunately, animals that eat things they shouldn't, tend to get said things stuck inside of them.
That being said, it sounds like it could be stuck. I can't guarantee that without diagnostics (x-rays, etc.) but what you can try for now is some petroleum jelly (vaseline). Sure, it doesn't taste the best, but it can help things "slide" through.
Here's some questions for you that'll help me out: How long ago did she eat it? How long has she been vomiting? Is she still pooping? Is she still drinking water? Does she seem lethargic/depressed at all?
