Re: Post your non-human buddies!
My dad just got a litter of four four-week-old kittens that will be fostered off once they're big enough. My brother and I get to name them. The first one is the only girl, who I'm naming after Emma:
And the mama, who sort of adopted them, even though she's less than one, watching the little ones wrestle:

Randomness is good. Product placement, however, is not. Shame on me.

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
Thanks guys!...I really didn't want another cat but when my daughter brought her home I couldn't resist. She's getting very spoiled.

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
Talk about a rough week...
So Monday was Monday... Monday's are the days when everyone brings their pets in they've been procrastinating having seen all weekend to avoid the outrageous fees at the emergency vet. By the time the dust began to settle, in comes a dog with a known history of foreign bodies... One year and three days previously, he had emergency surgery to remove a yoga mat the bright young dog had chosen to eat. Saturday, he had opted for a mat that lined the people's truck bed... X-rays proved that yes, he did in fact eat it. Mom wanted to take him home and *cross her fingers* it would pass by morning. Sure enough, in they come Tuesday morning (without even a phone call 5 minutes beforehand with a heads up) for surgery. OK, we can handle that. I felt so bad for her... I was talking to her and she just starts BAWLING. Her husband was out of town on a business trip, they have 4 young boys under the age of 8, the dog needs surgery, and to top it all off she just got her period. Poor woman! He made it through surgery and is doing well.
Then this morning - emergency laceration repair. The guy took his dog out hunting and she got caught on a barbed wire fence. Owner's friend is a human radiologist that just so happened to have a staple-gun (human-surgical kind) on hand (kinda weird if you ask me...). He went ahead and placed a bajillion staples. Well, today came in to have them all removed because it was all inflamed and not healing and just plain sad-looking. So we took out all bajillion staples and repaired it PROPERLY.
It's been a rough week... It's only halfway over...

Re: Post your non-human buddies!
LOL. Well I would assume that a human doctor (even though he doesn't work with surgical instruments) would at least have a slight clue how to use the staple gun... But nope, apparently not.
Also, I forgot to mention we've had two dogs in liver failure in the last week... One was a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel who passed away last weekend and the other is a 5 year old Springer Spaniel who has been coming in every day for transfusions... Just imagine their bill...
