For any of you who have been following the situation in Iran as obsessively as I have, President Obama just got done giving a statement at his press conference denouncing the violence. I imagine that he will face a few question on Iran soon if anyone wants to tune in.

(I use my time at work so effectively...)

It's on at my office, but there's too much craziness going on here to pay attention.

He really shot down Chuck Todd when he tried getting him to talk about what kind of retributions Iran can expect if the violence doesn't stop. It never ceases to amaze me when journalists ask questions that they know they aren't going to get an answer to. Obama can't speak for the international community as a whole, so the question was unanswerable.

Yeah I managed to miss the press conference, I really wanted to see it. Can anyone sum up what was said please?

Obama said that he and others in the international community were appalled at the violence being perpetrated against peaceful protesters, but that the path forward was for Iran and only Iran to decide. He was asked at what point he might accept Ahmadinejad as the leader of Iran, but he dodged the question for pretty obvious reasons in my opinion. Really the only news that came out of the parts that I was able to see was that he used his strongest language yet to denounce the actions of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad.
