I've been to the Orlando one the past 2 years but I can't go this year because I've done so much other traveling and my vacation fund is drained. I have a blast every time I go!

So, you guys have totally got me researching this! I'm thinking of going to the Sick Puppies show in Tampa then maybe checking out Howl-O-Scream (instead of HHN) and then hitting the Tonic show in Tampa on the 5th. Dana, have you been to Howl-O-Scream before and if so, how does it compare to HHN?

The last 2 years I have enjoyed Howl-O-Scream way more than HHN. HHN has gone down hill a ton over the last few years (no more scare zones, the houses are uninspired and have no scares other than push a button and walk around a clearly visible corner or gap in the wall, etc). That being said it is still one of the best Halloween events in the country and I hope I can visit here to go sometime in October!
If you do go to Howl-O-Scream, I highly recommend getting the front of the line pass. The lines there get insane, especially because they stagger people entering the houses (not a continuous conga line like HHN). This does make them better but the waits can be even worse than HHN. The pass usually is pretty cheap.

I do the R.I.P tour for HHN so I don't wait in any lines and get in to all of the houses, rides and get front row for Bill & Ted. It's a tad expensive but I won't do it any other way.

Thanks for the info guys! My friend just confirmed she can go with me!
I'll be going to the SP show at the Ritz Ybor, Busch Gardens/Howl O Scream and WOBtoberfest to see Tonic! I think I'll add on the front of the line pass when I get to HOS. I wished I had gotten the VIP pass the last 2 years at HHN so I know I'll want it for there.

I was being such a sissy. You should come back and do Howl-O-Scream with me. Apparently, their scare zones have gangs of chainsaw killers who chase you right out of the zone.

You hate chainsaws. Why would you subject yourself to that?
