[quote=I often find that bands don't have any tees for women at all. I've been to concert after concert and festival after festival where the merch stands have had loads of tees, but not a single one for women. Sometimes I know that the bands have women's tees as I've seen them on their respective websites, but for some reason they don't bring them to their shows. I've even ended up buying smaller men's models and tried to resew (is that a word?) them at home, with varying results. This is one of the reasons why I loved to see the SP merch stand when they were here in Sweden. Not only did they have a women's model, they had several! I could CHOSE! It felt so special
Sorry! What can i say, It's 2016 and it's still a "guy-centric" industry. I'm a guy, but the difference with me is that i've seen a lot of artists "drop the ball" when it comes to female customers. I've worked in the industry long enough and have seen first hand that women want merchandise and often times walk away disappointed when we don't have stuff for them. I've kept this in mind when designing product lines.
Regarding festivals ... a lot of festivals suck because staff at them just don't wanna work that hard. To some degree i get it, "If there are 50 bands on the bill you don't want to have to display the front and backs of 50 shirts for each the 50 bands". It's ok to limit bands on the amount of stuff they bring in ... to a degree, but it's also handicapping bands and yourself and the fans when you only allow them to bring one shirt to a show??? What do you do then? ONLY bring a guys shirt in? or only bring a girls shirt in? See what a mean? if it's two you can at least do a guys and girls tee ... which is what we are forced to do at a lot of festivals. If i get to bring in three shirts you'll see me do the tour tee, a girls tee and second guys tee.
For shows i try to have four guys tees and 3-4 girls tees just because the Puppies have almost an equal amount of female fans as male fans? That ratio has worked pretty good for us. ???
Keep up the good work G! I don't know if you were the guy I bought my grey umbrella tank from, but I love it![/quote]
Nice to hear and yes i'm more the 98 percent certain that that was me. Thanks for making the purchase and probably helping me out by speaking ENGLISH while i was in YOUR country. Also i think it's cool that you "re-sow" your own tees. Good for you i'm sure you get a lot of compliments!
