SPWC Fan of the Week #12
Introducing Emma Rodell, our Fan of the Week!
When did you first hear about the band?
I First heard about Sick Puppies in late 07/early 08. First song I instantly fell in love with was 'My World' (not 'All The Same', surprise, surprise haha).
What is your favorite song?
I guess my all time favorite song from Sick Puppies would be 'So What I Lied' but the acoustic version from their 'Live And Unplugged' EP. I think the acoustic guitar gives the song more justice.
Are you a member of the SPWC forum? If so, why did you decide to join?
Yes, I go under the name EmJ. The reason I decided to join was to be more involved with the band and it's nice to know there are other people on there with a common interest.
Where are you from?
Australia! Currently in Brisbane, originally from Darwin.
Why do you love them?
Well that's a silly question, what's not to love about them? It took me a couple of months to really sit down and listen to the pup's album 'Dressed Up As Life' when it first came out due to a lot of bands bringing out good albums at that time, but when I did listen to it 'woah' was all I thought, it was amazing! Then to top it off with 'Tri-Polar' in 2009. The pups were definitely going somewhere! However back in Australia not a lot of people knew about them and if they did it was "that Free Hugs song" or "Maybe, by that band they don't know". Hopefully 2013 will be different for them here if they end up doing a tour (hint, hint haha). If they wanted to, they could be in the ranks with fellow Aussie bands The Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Thousand Needles In Red, Tonight Alive, Superheist, Birds Of Tokyo and Silverchair.
