Most Embarrassing Moments @ Sick Puppies Concert

Oooo I got one. This happened at my very first show in Jackson, MS. After the show the band was kinda hanging out and chatting and I walk over to Shim for a picture. And being the sweety that he is he took one with me and then gave me a bear hug afterwards. Ecstatic I walk over to my friend and show her. " Awwww I want a picture with him too! Go ask him if he will take another one!" she says.. Shim was talking with someone and I REALLY didn't want to interrupt him. So what does she do? She pushes me right up to him! He just kinda turns and looks at me.. In a low pitch voice I managed to squeak out if he would take ANOTHER picture. He just looks at me and says, " You just want to touch me again don't you" I was sooo embarrassed as everyone heard what he said to me!! I just kinda laughed it off, but of course he took another pic with us. So by then I was ready to tuck tail and leave! But my friend just wants to hang around! Luckily, Shim had an exit strategy. He turned to her and said " Hang on a min, I have to pee!" ROFL I grabbed her arm and fled outta there!

Shim tried to hook me up with Mark this past weekend in Ft. Lauderdale.

So there was a really loud group of girls standing behind us who were SCREAMING for Emma, like damn banshees. They kept shouting "Emma you're hot!!!" so Shim had to play along:

Shim: (to the crowd) Who here thinks Mark is hot?
Me: (apparently I was the only one who screamed "whoooo!")
Shim: (points to me and smiles) What's your name?
Me: Gabby
Shim: (turns to Mark) Mark, this is Gabby. Gabby, that's Mark.
Me: (goofy smile and wave to Mark)

I blushed for a good 15 minutes.

And I can guarantee you that my sister would have screamed twice as loud.

Ok, so here is my embarassing Sick Puppies moment. I saw the group and learned about them for the first time when they came and played in Chicago a few months ago (they were part of the opening bands for Nickelback). Anyway, I had decided to take my son to his very first concert and this was the concert I choose. Anyway my son was embarassed about being at a concert with his mom (I don't know, I thought I was being cool, but not to my 17 year old). Any way I first off didn't know the groups that were playing so I had to keep asking people "whose playing?" If that wasn't embarassing enough (my son didn't know the groups either!) I could not for the life of me remember the name of the group.....Sick puppies. We were walking out and I was excited and told my son, "look there's the group"....I don't remember what I called them but my son turns to me and yells at me that they are not......... their name is Sick Puppies just as the group walked by.
Needless to say that is the LAST concert I am taking my son to. I have bougth a few of their CD's and now when people ask me who is playing on the radio I say Sick Puppies. I get a couple of funny looks but oh well. I like what I like!

After the 7/21 show in Houston, I went with a friend to go meet them at the merch table. For anybody that was at the show, you know it was really, really, hot in there, so after their set I went over and got a cup of water from the bar area. I was getting a few things signed, including the Acoustic EP/Tri Polar/Poster combo (plus the cover to the EP from 06, that I snuck into the building in my pocket. ) I got threw Mark and Emma perfectly fine, but as soon as I get to Shim at the end of the table, everything in my hand (including the cup of ice left from the water) fell out of my hand onto the table.

I kinda looked down at the ice on the table, up at Shim, then back down at the table, and I said the only word that could come into my mind at the time; "Damn." I don't think anyone else really noticed, but it was pretty embarrassing for me.

I probably have a "most embarassing moment" everytime i talk to SP but the first time i saw them was the worst by far.. The show was at the Station, Portland Maine, it happens to be the hottest venue i have ever been to, the people were insane- i actually got stabbed with a broken drumstick by the angry father of a girl i pushed?!? (she pushed me first!), the moshing got pretty crazy, I was going crazy, then Shim grabbed my hand while singing "all the same", best moment ever. Being that it was my first SP concert, I was high on life- they were my fav band before i had ever seen them, but still i had no idea a concert could be THAT good. Anywho, a combination of all those things had me on the brink of passing out when i stumbled into the merch line (I pass out at random, so this was nothing unusual for me). When i made it to the merch booth, i somehow ended up buying a shirt that would have properly fit when i was 10. Shim was holding his hand out (probably because I was holding the setlist and a sane person would have handed it to him to sign), but no, in my dyingness, i shook his hand instead and told him that i had nothing for him to sign and kinda awkwardly just stood there staring at him. So he grabbed a sticker and the band signed it, and for some reason i started to walk away without taking it from mark (i was really starting to die), Shim was like "are you ok, i think you need to have a seat, do you want me to get you a chair?" why did i say no???? I figured that Shim wouldnt remember the event, but of course, the next time i saw them Shim laughed and was like "Hey, I remember you, your THAT girl from Portland", fml.
