Got this e-mail yesterday or the other day ( I have it come to my work and I've been home ill the last couple of days) What do ya'll think of it? I'm wondering if this is what inspired them to write MAYBE ?? Wanna get a census of your thoughts & feelings. Its very beautifully written.
"The best thing about being on the road is the connection you make with the people that love the music. When you're not on the road you can miss that connection to something greater than the sum of its parts.
It is more than you or I or all of us.
It is everything combined plus the energy that perpetuates every second we continue to rock each others faces off. However, when on the road there is little time or energy to create new music. And that is my favorite thing to do in the world.
I prefer it to playing live, actually. Because when you're in the moment of feeling a creation come through you... You're singing it and playing it and watching it take form in front of you. But it's
happening through you. It's a very spiritual experience and it only happens once in a while.
It feels like falling in Love. But I believe you only fall in love once. At least that's what I feel at this time in my life.
However, you can write songs that may bring you to that place and that feeling whenever the idea grabs you. So you can chase that feeling like you would chase a child running with your mother's old china.
It's complete presence. You're more present in that moment than anything else. Totally focused. Totally clear. Totally present in that moment and sharing it with whoever is pushing the song through you from another place.
That's what I miss about being home. Having the freedom to chase that.
That is the journey.
That is the medicine.
That is why I'm here.
