Has anyone ever been really influenced by this band (seeing them live, etc) ?
I definitely have been, I actually started playing bass after I saw them live the first time. And I don't even know how many times I've gone around with free hugs signs. Haha.

Ugh I cant believe im about to admit this....

I was always into the heavier stuff, Killswitch-Sevendust just to name a couple. And In my writing style they were a huge influence.

I first heard SP a loooong time ago before they were signed and my listening preferances started to get a lil softer.

Now rewind to about 2yrs ago and I was flippin through youtube and caught "free hugs" (all the same)
I cried...every single lyric was mirroring my life. For the first time in my life I felt that a song had been written for me.

since that moment, my writing style is heavy SP influential, it went from hard and heavy to meaning and driven.

I haven't seen them live yet, but I have Tri-Polar and I got DUAL on Itunes and one night while listening to Riptide I was like screw it! I'm learning guitar! Its going well so far.
