Wikipedia lists Riptide as being released this year as the fourth single off Tri-Polar. Is this true?

According to one of the sites I watch for drop dates, it's dropping early Feb. I've been told Shim's mentioned it in interviews and yeppers on the link angelbear425 provided (above) from the Lopez show.

I wonder why they picked this song... There are much better songs on the album, IMO. Thoughts?

My guess would be because it's catchy and radio friendly. I've always liked Riptide, so I don't really have a problem with it being a single...although I would always vote for something harder if it were up to me.

Riptide is my favorite song off Tri. I really hope the radio doesn't kill it.

IMO, Riptide would be an awesome single because it holds a very powerful message. Also, bass line in that song is just... It's a given that Emma rocks, but that song makes you want to learn how to play bass [ Or at least that was the effect on me]

Alright, I can see I'm outvoted here...

I'm not saying that I don't like Riptide, and I agree that it has a powerful message, but I think War or Should've Known Better would be a better single.

War was released to radio last Spring. Not technically a single, but still released...and got a decent amount of airplay around here.

Riptide is a perfect follow up to Maybe. It's still kind of mellow and "top 40 radio friendly" but rocks hard also. Good choice.

I'd love harder songs for single personally, but I have to agree that Riptide is the best choice after Odd One and Maybe. Their music now attracts even wider range of fans, and Riptide has good hard/soft balance, I think.

I love Riptide & I'm so happy it's gonna be the next single! I'd also love to see Should've Known Better as a single.

Glad to see Riptide is going to be a single. I love the sound of Emma's bass in this track.
