Introducing Phoenix Antonia Solis, our Fan of the Week!
When did you first hear about the band?
"I first heard about Sick Puppies my junior year of high school (2007) after my dad went to an evanescence concert and said he liked them more than he liked her so he got me a cd. It was love at first listen."
What is your favorite song?
"...I love 'There's No Going Back'. I went through a dark period and finally got my life together and I'm determined never to be that girl again."
Are you a member of the SPWC forum?
"Yes I am!"
If so, why did you decide to join?
"I decided to join so I'd have more Pup fans to talk to. In my town, very few have heard of the Sick Puppies. I thought I was going to lose it!"
Where are you from?
"I am from all over really but I call Brownwood, TX home."
First pet?
"I have had lots of family pets but my first pet that was all my own was a hamster named Kail. I now have a husky/wolf mix named Chess as a roommate."
Favorite SP memories?
"I've been to 2 shows and both were the best concert experiences ever. They stole the show from all of the other bands including the headliners. My favorite Pups story though is when Polar Opposite released. At 8 AM, I made the Walmart shelf stockers open the box and give it to me because, in my opinion, they were taking too long to put it on the shelf. It had been release day for 8 hours, that's more than enough time! I protect my Gir phone cover that they signed like it's my most prized possession simply because when I asked them to sign it, Shim made them stop what they were doing because he was so excited that I had a Gir phone cover. The entire band did their impressions of Gir (Emma sang the 'Doom Song', Mark said 'I Heart Taquitos', and Shim said 'But why my piggies?!?!?!') It was pretty awesome!"
Why do you love them?
"Are we talkin' why do I love my pet or why do I love the pups lol. Sick Puppies music just seems to speak to me no matter what mood I'm in whether its sparring or depressed or rebellious."
Fun Facts:
"I am a songwriter, playwright and an actress (an amateur but I do all of these things on a regular basis). I am currently writing a play that has attracted the attention of one of the biggest script publishing companies in the US"
