Pittsburgh, PA - Diesel 3 August 2010

Was down at diesel last night for Dashboard Confessional(didn't go in...just wanted to meet Chris) and there was only 1 little advertisement all over the area on the ticket window. I was very disappointed that they aren't promoting the show more. But, the paper said said 6:30pm, not sure if it was show time at 6:30 OR doors open at 6:30. I know the show last night got over around 11ish.

Pitt, did you preorder your tix through Elko or buy at the door? I didn't even know DC was gonna be down there! I don't get why Diesel is getting all of these awesome bands and not even promoting them, at all! I preordered my SP tix about 4 weeks ago. It said they'd be dropped in my mailbox in a white, unmarked envelope 10 days before the concert. I still haven't seen them. I'm getting a [i]little[i] worried...

Hey, how'd everyone enjoy the show? I wasn't a fan of the Diesel setup, AT ALL, but I did enjoy seeing SP more up close and personal than in a larger venue. I thought they put on a rocking show, but was surprised at how subdued the crowd seemed. LOL, I was the old lady back at the bar that Shim made "come closer." ;>) I was also kinda disappointed in how quickly we were ushered through the line at the end of the concert to get autographs, whatever. The band seemed so exhausted that they just wanted to get through it and get back on the bus. It was absolutely amazing and karmical (yes, I typed karmical) that Shim bid me come closer and then dedicated Odd One to all the ladies in the room. I bawled my eyes out, thinking of my son and thanking the band mentally. (If you have no clue what I'm talking about, check my Thanks, Guys thread.) I was also kind of disappointed that there were no perks for Crew members, although in hindsight, not sure how they could have proved member identity to qualify for perks....anyone else have any comments/ideas about the show that maybe us Crew could improve upon for SP coming back to Pittsburgh? I'm kind of thinking that they may not want to after the overall experience. We've gotta get some better promotion together for them, or something. I'd be interested to hear what everyone else thought and any ideas!!!

^^What kinds of perks for Crew members do you mean? I mean, personally, I think it's a perk for anyone just that they take the time to sign after every show they put on.

I was in line with a few SPWC members and I must say SUPER NICE!! We waited in the rain together haha. The set up for that place was not..the best. I was stage center, right up on the stage. I had Sal from MDD right there, like RIGHT there haha. The show was sick, I gotta say it was one of the more interesting ones that I have been too. They had that smoke machine going and then at the end of the show Shim was getting us all going and they set something that I dont know the name of off. It shot out like a fire extinguisher all around him! Super cool effect haha. The Emma and Mark chants were cool, tried to get a Shim chant going but to no avail, nada lol. Anyone else think that it would be a good idea to head there for another show? Hope they come by soon but maybe to a slightly bigger venue.

Wow. I thought they only did signings after the Pgh show because it was such a small venue. Had no idea they did it for EVERY single show! Yeah, I'm agreed. Larger venue next time...
