This being my first Edgefest, I enjoyed it. For the most part. I was going to bring my camera, but I forgot it. Oh well. I took a couple pictures of Shimon and one video of Brick by Brick on my phone. I now need a cord to get them onto my computer. I used to just get them online, but now I can't. f*ck lack of internet on my phone.
Anyways. Brick By Brick was good. Some of it I couldn't really understand, but the screaming was really good. Sugar Red Drive was really bad. The lead sounded like a girl, and was hardly worthy to be in the same conversation as some of the other bands. Hurt was horrible. Just f*ck horrible. And I'm pretty sure the only ones cheering were fangirl types. Midnight to Twelve was decent. It wasn't something I expected, but it was still good. I didn't like Bury Your Dead in the beginning, because they played a few of their new songs. And I don't like their new album at all. But then they played some of their really old stuff and I began to like them. In the end, I was cheering.
Sick Puppies really surprised me. I didn't expect the music to be as good as it was, nor did I expect Shimon's personality. They were the best performance of the night, in my opinion. Tantric... I had to walk away from. I didn't so much like Toadies as I did the most pit that ensued during their performance. Odd, no most pit for Bury Your Dead, but one huge one for Toadies. I once again only liked a band, that band being Static-X, once they played their older, better stuff.
We left during Black Label Society. They weren't good, and there was probably the biggest mosh pit of the fest. And since we were up against the barricade, we were being pushed into that. And there was this bitch that was trying to elbow her way to the front. I almost punched, or elbowed her in the f*ck face. So my best friend dragged me away. We didn't see Mudvayne. We didn't want to.
I had fun.
