I had the best time tonight....my second childhood - or mid-life crisis has set in just perfectly...LOL

ok I've got my flip camera videos. I got the part that Shim wanted with the "bulls**t" chant as I like to call it. When I spoke with Shim after buying my merch he said to send it to sickpuppies.com .....any ideas? I go to sickpuppies.net and see that it would go to paul? confused...please help. Nice seeing you again Jamie!

I'd love to see it too. I took about 25 pics with my LG Ally.... they looked fine last night. When I looked at them this morning they were all just colors and lines...... so pissed. I do have a video of the last song....hopefully I can find a way to send it to the website or YouTube... They were so amazing!

Loved loved loved the show. Everything was just about perfect. Trip down was kind of crappy. Detours and construction for most of the way. We got there a little before 5:30. Got to watch quite a bit of them rehearsing. I wonder if they could see us? It was just Mom, the 3 people ahead of us, and myself for quite awhile. We were waiting and a line was starting to form down towards the church. A staff member comes out and says form the line the other way so everyone rushes over to the other side. That made Mom & I more like 7th and 8th in line now. Kinda pissed but oh well what are we gonna do. So we wait and wait and wait. It's starting to get dark and the breeze is really starting to blow. They let us in just after 7pm. They check id's and tickets and give us those lovely bracelets to wear on our right wrists. We enter and walk directly to the stage. We end up almost center, but more off center towards Emma, right against the rail. We're stoked. We looked at our cell phone's for time and think "oh god we still have 2 1/2 hrs til Sick Puppies hit the stage. We immediately put in our ear plugs. I make sure I have my money, id, cell phone, digital camera, & flip camera handy. I BS with my mom til the opening band comes on. My opinion- not bad, but not heavy enough. Almost sounds like lounge music/elevator music. Their set ends and we wait for the next band. Selfish needy creatures takes the stage. Weird. The lead singer is one of the staff of this venue. Drinking some sort of alcohol and water throughout the set he continuously yells and screams into the mic. I hear some women in the back yell "you're hot" and bra's and underwear get thrown on the stage. Their set finally ends and then the adrenaline in me starts flowing. Reality is setting in that they are going to be entering the stage soon! The crew sets up the gear for the Sick Puppies set. I've never seen anyone be so anal about where things should go. They had to put gear inside perfectly laid out squares. The fan that blows on Emma was labeled "sick puppies Shim". I thought that was "odd" Rage against the machine comes on over the speakers and the crowd goes wild singing along because they know what's coming next. The pups enter the stage from the back room (In April they entered from outside) No major difficulties throughout the set. Shim asked to get rid of the frequency?? I saw Shim & Emma mess with some knobs on the large speakers throughout the set, so something must have not sounded right to them. They said they had a "surprise" for us to just sit tight. They ran off the stage and the crew got out stools and Mark's Jimbwe drum. They come back out and play a couple of acoustic songs for the crowd. Amazing! I have some flip videos that I'm trying to load but they are taking forever to load. The funniest part of the night was when Shim was talking about the record companies not wanting to sign them. The crowd broke out in a chant of "Bullshit, bullshit". Shim got a kick of it and asked if anyone was flip videoing it as he would like to send it to the label . In my head I was like me! me! They went back to rocking out a few more songs and then before I knew it the show was over. Shim jumped off the stage and brushed his hand along the rail goers hands. My mom said she got quite a bit of his hand and I got just his hand against the pads of my fingers. The bounce off, as usual, was amazing. Shim continuously asked if the songs made you feel good just about after each song. He said he wanted to meet each and every fan. There was a sign outside of the venue that read that after the show get a special meet n' greet with Sick Puppies. Available to first 200 people who buy t-shirt, poster, or cd. I thought that to be odd. I own just about all the shirts so I bought the skull one and a couple of the sweatband bracelets (one for me and one for mom).
I nervously made my way to Shim. A guy was talking to him about playing the songs in Drop C. I hand him my shirt and he signed it. I said thank you and that I got the bullshit chant on my flip camera. Shim said to email it to sickpuppies.com. I said ok and proceeded my way to Emma & Mark. They said that I was all set. I said thank you and to have a nice day I was like you idiot "have a nice day" I can't believe I said that. Mom said hi and shook Emma and Marks hands. My mom got some neat photos of the band during the show. I was so proud of her. She usually is the one who takes blurry photos and cuts off people heads, etc. Well it was about 11:15, mom had to use the bathroom, and then on the road we went. About 45ish miles from home the gas light comes on in the car. It's pitch black out 1:30 in the morning and we are in the middle of the mountains. I start to panic. I try to do the math in my head to figure out where it would put us. My mom tells me that we have about 30 miles. Just about 30 miles I pull off at an exit and am able to get gas. I told the clerk that she is a lifesaver. My dad was already pissy that mom and I were going to go to the concert and he would have been super pissed if he would have had to come get us about 30 minutes from home at 1:30 in the morning because I thought that we could make it home. Ironically I was playing Tri-Polar on the way home to keep myself awake. As we were getting closer to the gas station, Odd One came on and I listened to Shim sing "hey it's gonna be ok, yeah gonna laugh at this one day"...and I was like yeah Shim's right. But that could have ended so much worse. Up in the mountains there is no or very crappy cell service. We could have been stuck there for awhile til someone came along. Here are links to my facebook. The hoodie definitely saved my day too although i was wicked cold right before we went in. This is my my fifth time seeing sp, I saw them at northern lights back in april too, the crowd was much crazier then and much larger i think?
