Such a killer show. I had to drive out almost two hours for it and took the day off work but soooo worth it. Earlier in the day I heard their acoustic session that they did at a local radio station and that just got me psyched even more for it.
I guess I was kind of the photographer for the night since the band and venue didn't grant any other journalists or photographers access to do it so I was in front of the rails for half of the show which is a lot longer than usual but got at least 60 great shots which I'll share soon. After that I took video of a few songs as well.
This show was the first tiem that they played the new version of "What Are You Looking For" as well. It was kind of funny because when Shim got to the chorus people kind of stopped singing and thrashing around and just kind of listened and were kind of like hmm? and confused for a sec. Early in the set they played a brand new song and that was pretty cool. They opened the show with "Cancer" but the way that they intro'ed it made it sound like Metallica's "Master Of Puppets." It was also pretty funny when Shim kept saying that his mission for the night was to make everyone cave the floor in.
Such a great show. I couldn't believe how fast time went by, I just didn't want the show to end. I wanted to bring a big cardboard sign that said "Cherub Rock" in hopes that the band would play it but didn't. All in all, a friggin AMAZING show. This was the band's setlist
Cancer
Waiting For The Sun To Go (New Song)
Deliverence
Anywhere But Here
My World
What Are You Looking For (New Version, 1st time played live electric)
