It is indeed a gnome...in fact I went gnome shopping today so I could have one for tomorrow’s concert.

That's the only way I'd never step inside a Wal-Mart, I'm so against that company o.o

For their sake I hope it is inside...it's suppose to be 105 degrees at 5 p.m. in Tulsa (and that is without the freaking heat index).

I was at this acoustical set and it was the first time I have ever seen SP live. I was blown away by how good they sounded in the partially outside Lawn and Garden area with only about 50 people around.





Shim was pretty funny as he kept telling people standing just inside the WalMart entrance to "come on out, it may be cool in there, but it's cooler out here"

As they started playing Rip Tide, I got excited as it's my favorite song on Tri-Polar. They're playing it and I start singing along, even though the album came out the day before. Right after the song Shim points at me says "you already got the album". I said, "yeah, I was excited when you started playing that". It was cool.

I even bought one of the edited copies (blech!) of Tri-Polar, even after buying it off iTunes.

1) So I could get the poster they were signing
2) So I could get them to sign the CD jacket
3) So there would be at least ONE more sale in the initial launch week to help Tri-Polar move up the charts.

I'll probably never listed to the edited version, but I have it as a keep-sake.

I even broke down and did the photo-op. I'm sure I looked stupid with my old, fat ass up there with these guys (you should have seen me at the Cains that night! ), but hey....there are fans of all ages, right? And you can't pass up an opportunity when it comes at you.


After the photo Emma patted me on the shoulder and said "thank you". That meant a lot that an artist would thank a fan one on one like that. It shows that they do appreciate their fans.

I then drove to the Cain's Ballroom for their full show already impressed...

Cool pics! I've been lucky enough to see a live acoustic performance and they're just as amazing/captivating but on a whole different level.

....I'm still dying to see another acoustic set in person!

I wish I had my camera with me as those were taken with my crappy 1.3MP cell phone camera.

The oddest thing was hearing YGD acoustic. That song is so hard that it's just bizarre hearing them try and play it softly.

Well I'm sure there's going to be plenty of more chances to make up for that in the near future! They really do appreciate the fans unlike most musical artists.

So did it take place outside of Wal-Mart? It kind of looks like it's in that space between the inside and outside, haha.

.....my favorite acoustic song version would have to be "Too Many Words", I'm still bummed I have no audio or video of that because it sounds absolutely beautiful. I was lucky enough to hear/see it performed live back in December 2007
