Cannot tell you how happy i am at this news. Been a fan for a while now and i wondered when they would make it to Scotland and now they are and playing one of my favourite venues in Glasgow.Excited is not the word

hey people, its my 19th birthday today!
my girlfriend bought me 2 tickets for king tuts as part of my birthday.
i love the pups

however i may need some help. The tickets say its over 18s. my girlfriend is 16. i wont go without her, so were gonna chance it anyway.
But i was wondering if i could somehow use the spwc's slogan "were with the band" in order to gain entry
or i could challenge the manager of king tuts to a duel of sick puppies trivia.
or i could hide her up my shirt. or track down shim and ask him for his written consent

all these plans seem pretty..... unachievable. anyone got any advice?

I don't know, maybe call the venue and see if this is something that they strictly enforce?

I agree with Becky about calling the venue and seeing if it is something that is strictly enforced. I do know that you can't use the "we're with the band." That's a strict no-no.

phoned them today. turns out it is very strictly enforced and there is no way around it

im rather annoyed and upset to say the least.

Do you have a friend that would want to go with you? I'm sure your girlfriend wouldn't want you to miss it because she can't go...considering she bought you the tickets as a gift!

yeah i dunno. i was really looking forward to it. wev been getting all hyped up about it and stuff. she really wants to see them too. i hate her missing out. shes pretty much my conjoined twin. This is my first sick puppies gig, and i know i wont be able to shut up about it for ages. i wont be able to tell her how amazing it was, without making her feel left out. the guilt will kill me.

I can imagine this.. Me and my girlfriend coming from Czech Republic to see them in Sheffield and Manchester! Both of us are excited about this trip cuz it's gonna be amazing!

I can't imagine how sad she would be if she can't go with me.. Hope you'll find some friend and you'll enjoy the show!

Paul do you think you guys could make it to Newcastle? I just had a look at the venue there and it says general admission? It will be more expensive of course and you would have to stay over there most likely.

If you have the day off on Friday and would not mind stopping in Edinburgh then I would be able to give you a lift from Glasgow as I am driving down myself. Just a thought, it is certainly not as convenient though...

I'm so, so happy about this concert... I have the ticket blue-tacked to my wall and it makes me smile every time I see it... SP is one of the bands I never even dared to dream I'd see live [because no matter how much I've 'pimped' their music, I doubt that's a big enough crowd for them to come to my silly country]. I've been counting the days ever since I bought the ticket- on my calendar, Harry Potter-style.
[Also, since the internet is very impersonal, I feel the need to mention that the previous paragraph was an excited rant]

It's going to be great always feel Glasgow has a great atmosphere for gigs and king tuts is a fantastic venue so fantastic atmosphere mixed with fantastic venue and add a fantastic band means its going to be a great night thats for sure
