Bringing Dylan Back Home to California

Where is the most logical place to find a never-before-released song from Bob Dylan that originally dates from his legendary sessions for "Bringing It All Back Home" more than 40 years ago?

The second volume of the "NCIS" soundtrack, of course.

CBS Records will release the second volume of a specially produced soundtrack for the hit television series "NCIS" on Tuesday, November 3. NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack – Vol. 2, featuring brand new and previously unreleased tracks from some of music’s most popular artists – including Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow, Joss Stone, Sick Puppies, and Saosin.

To coincide with the album’s release date, the Nov. 3 episode of NCIS will prominently feature Bob Dylan’s “California” – a never-before-released track that dates from the "Bringing It All Back Home" sessions and has been locked in the vaults until now. "California" has been newly mixed and mastered.

Tonight's episode of NCIS featured Saosin's song so hopefully SP will be featured in the next couple weeks.

It sounds great so far. It's very different from pretty much anything they've put out this year, so I think it's a nice balancing piece.

Hmmm...not sure what I think of that. Guess I'll have to hear the whole thing first, though.

I'm not sure, it sounds very good from what I heard of it but it is definately different from the "normal" SP if there ever was such a thing. But of course alot of us said that when Tri-Polar came out and we definately adjusted to that so I think we will learn to adjust to this and like it alot eventually. If some of us don't already. I personally like it but I would also like to hear the whole song as well.lol.

After previewing the song, I'm really surprised by how slow the tempo is but Shim sounds wonderful. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the song in its entirety.
