Hattiesburg, MS concert (super upset)

I am a HUGE sick puppies fan (of course you know that since i'm in the World Crew) so I check constantly for concerts near me. I even checked this weekend for a concert anywhere near here (Starkville, MS I go to MSU) and there was nothing (except biloxi this sunday, but I can't make it).

Well, just 15 minutes ago I log onto myspace and see a new sick puppies bulletin saying that they are playing in Hattiesburg tonight! I look at the time and they say it starts at 7 (right now). Hattiesburg is 3 hours away but I would have gladly driven that amount of time and missed class or slept through class tomorrow. There is no other band I want to see live that SP.

Gah...I'm so upset right now. I would have loved to see them in an intimate environment like they are playing in as week speak. s;lfj;lsjdf;lsdjkflksdjfsldjflsdfjsldjf



any idea why there was such short notice on this concert?

Never heard a word about it. Maybe it was SUPER last minute that they booked? Like....today. I will try to find out for you.

I wish. But my cousins from pensacola are coming to visit tomorrow so i'll be visiting.

don't get me started on that either because I would have gone to visit them this weekend instead if i had known the pups were playing in pensacola friday before they had already planned the visit.

This isn't the first time this has happened with shows not being announced ahead of time (Not that it happens often, but sometimes they get booked very late like Becky said). I'm not sure if tonight was a regular show or acoustic, but I went to an acoustic show over the summer and there were literally 10 people there. And most of them were just in the store shopping. It was never posted here and I felt really bad that there weren't more people.

Yes, it is very rare but sometimes there can be a show that is scheduled last minute .. we do our very best in communicating with SP management so that we can list every show on the forum well in advance , although acoustic shows are sometimes within the same week of the show due to scheduling.

I am so sorry that you weren't able to see SP this time around .. hopefully they will be back soon !

Well they played at Remington Hunt Club in Hattiesburg and the other Hunt Club is in Starkville (where I am). I went there today and talked to the owner and they said they were sorry for not giving more notice. Apparently it wasn't even a last minute deal, it was just not advertised.

Turns out Saliva is coming to the Starkville one later this month. The manager said "So we should have sent Saliva to Hattiesburg and gotten the Sick Puppies here?"

I responded, "ABSOLUTELY". haha.

We talked to her more about it and it sounded like she was interested in bringing them to the Starkville location as well. I am excited and hope it happens!

I found out the night before when I was in Little Rock, and it was a last minute show. Only about 50 people showed up for a full set. By the time I got back home it was 3pm and I had another concert that night. I'm sorry you didn't get to see them.

Sorry you didn't find out in time.
But sometimes they book last min shows. I found out on my lunch break listening to 103.7, four days before the day of the show. The ones in Hattiesburg & Biloxi, MS are consider their days off from the Shinedown tour. So that probably why no one got information on it as fast.

I hope the next time they come around, you will be able to make it.
