If you could pick the next single off of Tri-Polar....

I just heard from a friend of mine who is very in the loop with the music industry that Odd One is going to be the next single. Can anyone confirm?

If thats true thats awesome Odd One is easily my fav, as for being a single I think it will do pretty well with the Evanescence/TDG/Breaking benjamin crowd....but we never know till it happens, I mean ill be honest I never thought YDG would be a #1 rock radio single

It is Shim's favorite song on the album though, so maybe some sentimental feeling is driving the decision.

I'm not commenting on my opinion of the choice however.....it's a conflict of interest!!

It's definitely not my choice for a single, but what do I know lol I'm not in the music business so maybe it will do well? I don't think it will receive much airplay on the rock station in my area- probably like WAYLF on DUAL.

^^^ That's what I'm afraid of, too. I don't think I heard WAYLF once on the radio here. I guess you never know, though.

I know I never did. In fact, I talked to one of the djs for the radio station and he said that they never got that single from the producer (or whoever sends the singles to stations) and they couldn't play it unless they got it sent to them.

Yea I've never heard War on the radio either. I kept calling about that one either and they told me the same thing about that single that they never received anything about it so therefore they weren't allowed to play it.

You're Going Down was the first SP song I ever heard on the radio. Never got to hear My World, All the Same, or any of their older singles. It's exciting to hear them now.

I was just listening through Tri-Polar and I actually think Don't Walk Away would make a great single. It seems so mainstream friendly. I think that song could really take off.

Well maybe each band member has a chance to choose which they would want to be the next single, as a group it was YDG, Emma's fav is Odd One, Shim's is War, Mark is correct me if im wrong but Riptide? idk just a guess

My local station played the hell out of War and YGD. My World and All The Same, too.

The problem, for me, with Odd One being a single is that it's not really catchy. It's not a song that most people loved off the bat, not one that you can't get out of your head after hearing it once. It seems like it's more of a song that grows on people, which is not great for radio.
