Re: Sick Puppies And Saosin Contribute New Songs To NCIS CD
So far ... I love it I think it's awesome that they can totally rock out with a hard song but then create a piece like this that is basically mellow and slow - not all bands can do both . I can't wait to hear the whole song .. my favorite lyrics would have to be :
Can you believe the life you led
Did you achieve the goals you set
Did you lose your mind now and then
Is there a reason you won’t mend
Is that a season that won’t end
Can’t believe it’s that time of year again
Can you believe the life you led
Did you achieve the goals you set
Did you lose your mind now and then
Is there a reason you won’t mend
Is that a season that won’t end
Can’t believe it’s that time of year again
I believe in nothing, not the day and not the dark. I believe in nothing but the beating of our hearts

Sick Puppies on NCIS soundtrack
So, they just tweeted about a new song that will be on the NCIS soundtrack. It can be found here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002U8 ... mu_dp_trk4
Sounds REALLY interesting. Alot softer than their other stuff.

Already bought and downloaded it and listened to the song. I love it. Very different from their usual sound, but Shim's voice is amazing on it. I really like Saosin's song too.

I bought and downloaded it. It's good to hear the full song, which really shows the opposite end of the rock spectrum from their usual work. It's a nice, mellow song that may not make me get pumped up, but does make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: Sick Puppies And Saosin Contribute New Songs To NCIS CD
I found this review on a blog today .. I like what they had to say about SP's single on the CD:
Earlier this year, I bought NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack and it quickly became one of my favorite CD’s. I burned it onto my iPod and played it nearly non-stop for months. I loved that it had two disks, one with more contemporary music and the second (aptly named “Abby’s Lab”) with techo/rock. I found favorites on both disks as I like both styles.
NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack, Vol. 2 is only one disk, which was little disappointing but I got over it. There are still plenty of good songs on it. From jazzy sounding songs to contemporary rock, pop and modern rock – the album is a nice mix with a little bit of everything on it. I imagine it can’t be easy to make all NCIS fans happy, but I think they did a pretty good job.
Now I know that many people who review this album talk about Bob Dylan’s song on it. He is a big name after all and it’s great that they were able to get him on it once again (since he had a song on the first album as well). Trouble is I’m just not a fan of his.
So I’m going to move on to my favorite songs…
“Bitter and Blue” by Michael Weatherly – Okay so anyone who reads this blog can tell that not only am I a fan of NCIS but that Tony is my favorite character. So you may be thinking that it’s just the fangirl squeeing inside that likes this song. Not true. Last month I heard a clip of “Bitter and Blue” and couldn’t stop humming it for days. Now that I’ve heard the song in its entirety, it’s even better. Michael’s singing is smooth and the tune is fun and catchy, despite its rather serious theme.
“That Time of Year” by Sick Puppies – The instant this song started, I was in love with it. Sort of sad and angsty but with a rock background, it really spoke to me. The chorus rises nicely and I’m sure I’ll be adding this to the “angst” playlist on my iPod to be used when I write.
“Move Slowly” by Saosin – A rock song that feels like it will probably be a good driving song, this one is another favorite.
“The Elements” by Tom Lehrer – This one gets my vote simply because it makes me giggle every time I hear it. I just keep picturing when it was used on the show and I can’t help it.
Overall a pretty good album with a nice mix of musical styles to make nearly any NCIS fan happy. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the show.

I just brought the CD off of iTunes! I love their new song on it
Shim is so amazing with the different ranges he can do with his voice. Like anything from yelling/screaming to calm/soft singing and STILL sound awesome. I love his voice.

The song was on last night and it was GREAT! I only wish they'd played more of it, but there was a nice ad at the end!

I just watched the episode from last night. It was so cool hearing their song on my favorite show. I wish they had played more of it, but yeah the ad for them at the end was great.
I'll see if I can either cut the video I have and upload it to YouTube, or just see if it is already uploaded.
