My Band Logo?

Hello, I am in a band called Falling Horizon. We are currently trying to make a logo. we need help. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas, or if anyone would mind making us like a concept or something? if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated

What's your band about? it might help someone develop a concept for you if you give a bit more details, as to what you're looking for and such.

I'm sure you won't want a bunch of daises if your band plays death metal. =P

we play music very similar to Sick Puppies, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace.

Illustrating a "Falling Horizon" would be difficult. I would figure doing a clever logo of the initials (FH) would be your best bet. The only other thing I can think of is a perspective type deal like this:



But then you are getting more into artwork or album art. A logo needs to be more siplified (which is why the initials are your best bet). Otherwise you need to come up with a weird symbol to signifiy something (like Red Hot Chilli Peppers has)

Hmm....Thats an awesome band name. Right now I'm think along the lines of Crazzzy. Something with the letters or something off the wall that looks cool. Whats popping into my head is the initials FH, only the F is backwards and shareing the long line with the H.....just a brainstorm.

My old band was named Unwound, like yours it was kinda hard to think of an appropriate logo....here is what we had though.

Here is my lame attempt at what I'm thinking...

Think of a circle with a line going across the middle (horizontally, of course). Above the line, you can see half the sun (so this way people know it's the horizon). Now take a big fancy looking "F" and smack it down right on top of the picture. Where the "F" overlays the sun, the color could be black and where the "F" overlays the ground/water, it could be another color.

Does that make sense? Just my idea.

Well, here's the idea I was kinda thinking of. I was thinking we could have a circle in the center of the image, and it would be like the moon, or the Earth, but it'd be kinda dark like an eclipse. Then the top half would be kinda colorful, and have trees, grass, flowers, and those types of things. So the top would be a "happy" place to be. In the background I was thinking of it saying "Falling". Along the horizon where it divides the earth (or moon if we use a moon) in half, there would be mountains. These mountains could either be white, or have green on them, like if they had trees. And that's it for the top. The bottom of the image would be a very "dark" or "scary" place, filled with nothing but dark stuff. I would want the bottom to have mountains too, but they would be.. black? Then there would be stuff like fire, and destruction, stuff like that. It would also say "Horizon" in the background. I'm kinda thinking on the earth, we could give it some color, like put mountains that are green on the "falling" half of the image and black mountains along the edge of it on the "horizon" half of it. But these mountains would be really small so they're barely making the earth bigger.

I dunno, you guys let me know what you all think, and if anyone can help me do this design, that would be great!! Thanks everyone!

well il give u little history lesson now

i was thinking of a man with the head of a parrot, maybe lying dead.
or maybe a man with a jackals head, with the sun behind him.

anyways, this gos back to egyptian times, Horus was the parrot man, the sun god.
an Set was the jackal. It was believed that horus would overcome set every day, then Set would defeat him at night. this is where "Sunset" comes from and also Horizon which means "Horus has risen".
