How I first heard Sick Puppies...

I was looking through and I didn't see this thread yet so, correct me if I'm wrong but here's one.

I'll go fist I guess,
My friend Alison had them on her Ipod but only My World and All the Same, I heard My world first, so it bring backs memories every time I hear it, but It took You're going down to get me into them.
It was one of those You're Going D0wn comes on the radio and the DJ says Sick Puppies and I wonder where have I heard the before?

My Fiancée introduced me to All The Same back in '08. I heard her mention loving the song, so I looked it up and learned how to play it. This was back when I was first learning the guitar.

I saw them at Rock on the Range in 08. They are soo amazing live, how could I not fall in love with them? Been slightly obsessed ever since lol

I first found out about them through the Free Hugs Campaign video on youtube. After hearing them, I had to look them up and was totally happy I did.

I had heard of them a looooong time ago when their first song came out and I liked it a lot but I never looked them up or anything. Then I started working night shirft at this place and there was a guy there who really liked them. We had a lot in common music wise so I finally looked them up and now I listen to them all the time.

I went to a shinedown concert in 2007 and they opened.. I ended up loving them so much that I stayed and hung out with them at the bar and missed all of shinedowns set

They were touring with Evanescence. In 2007? Correct me if I am wrong.
I am a big Evanescence fan, and was going to a attend a show of theirs,
with Sick Puppies opening,
and I am always curious as to what the opening acts or special guests sound like, so i checked them out, by searching youtube and saw the video for My World, and was in love. =]
Sadly i did not make it to the Evanescence show, but thanks to that show, regardless, I found sick puppies=]

I remember hearing War in the game Street Fighter, but I didn't know who it was, then I heard You're going down on the radio and they mentioned that they did War too, and I totally thought that Sick Puppies was a wannabe Linkin Park because I thought there was two singers. Upon further investigation I found a video of Pitiful and was blown away. The rest as they say is Theirstory, er Herstory, er History.

I can't remember who sent it to me, but a friend showed me the Free Hugs video and I remember I had that thing on my MySpace for months!

And the rest is history...

The first time I heard SP was in the summer of 2008. I have a horrible memeory, especialy with dates/years, but this was the only summer this student worked for me. One of my student assistants, who has the same musical taste as myself, had the SP channel on Pandora up when I went to the site. I told myself "dude she has good taste I'll take a listen" and of course loved it.

I remember hearing about them, and I knew somebody who was a big fan of "My World" when it was just starting to be popular in 2007. I never really thought much of it til I was getting ready to see Evanescence in December. At that point, I looked them up and fell in love instantly. I still didn't know that much about them on the day of my first Ev concert, but it was also the day I met Susanna and all those hours waiting in line, we found time to talk about SP since she had already seem them live, and she showed me the video for "My World" on her phone for the first time.

And as Gabby says, the rest is history...

I actually first heard about them from a bassist forum I belong to. There was a thread about hot/awesome female bassists and emma was on the list. they referred to her as the female flea so i decided to check out some songs. First song I ever heard was my world and I was hooked.

I almost do not even remember how I first heard about SP! I know I bought Dress Up As Life on iTunes and fell in love but ... I guess I was just browsing iTunes. It funny how many people watched the Free Hugs video and found out about the band.

On the radio don't know what channel didn't care what channel but after i heard them i never changed the channel

I saw them live before I knew who they were.

I went to an Evanescence show on October 30th, 2007 in Gradn Prairie Texas (Tim knows what I'm talking about, he was there too) and after the first opening band (Julien-K....uggghhhh), I was losing faith in who Ev had picked to open for them. Then this three piece comes on stage, and saywhat, they have a female bass player!? I was in awe at how full their sound was, even with just three people. Shim's energy and crowd interaction was amazing. He made eye contact and pointed at me several times and they all just had a BLAST. After the whole show was over, they were out at their merch table signing and taking pictures. I got a DUAL poster signed and got a couple pictures with the band. From that day I was hooked.

I kinda fell out of listening to them for a while, then saw them live again in May 2008 when they played at Clicks in Tyler. I had forgotten how awesome they were live and the fandom was quickly rekindled. The rest, they say, is history

I first heard them on MusicChoice (Comcast cable music channel) in 2007. I heard My World and really liked the song, then found out they had a female bassist, which I thought was really cool cause I was just learning to play at the time. So then I bought Dressed Up As Life and became a huge fan. THEN a few months later I went to see Hinder and the Pups just happened to be opening for them, and saw how AMAZING they are live, and also how cool they are to their fans.

well, planet radio loves playing the pups so I was listening to you're going down on the radio all the time and really liked the song (even bought it on itunes). So shinedown was on tour for Sound of Madness and they were playing Orlando, being my favorite band I had to go. I pull up to the parking lot of downtown disney and see the pup's decked out bus and was like "oh awesome!" I only knew you're going down going into the show but it was SO amazing. after the set I ran up stairs to buy tri-polar and the poster and had the poster signed. I gave up a second row spot to do that! The live show was most definetly the start of my obsession.
