Re: Tattoos
I got the majority of the jade lotus on my right elbow today. The elbow is definitely up there in the amount of pain getting the tattoo. I have to go back in two weeks to finish it out. At the same time the tattoo artist will be doing some backround so I'll have my first full sleeve when everything is done.

I bet...Maybe I'll just skip that are when it comes to getting my sleeve...
Congrats on your (almost) first full sleeve. I'm VERY far from mine

Re: Tattoos
I got my march/april Revolver in today, there's a whole spread in it on tattoos. It was really interesting. Def worth the read if you can find a copy.

Re: Tattoos
it's funny how hard it is to find good magazines...I had to order Revolver online because I couldn't find it around here.

Re: Tattoos
My right elbow still hurts and it is about twice the size of my left one.
The only other tattoos that have affected me like this are the ones on my feet.

Re: Tattoos
My view on the pain that comes from getting tattooed is, the pain only lasts a few days but the tattoo will last for 50 years. What is a few days of discomfort compared to 50 years of having a good piece of art? If the pain and discomfort aren't worth it then the tattoo isn't worth it.

Re: Tattoos
LOL...I haven't had one of those...I have had the artist hold me down while he was doing my side...smelly armpit in my face the whole time on top of that...very enjoyable experience that tat was...and then my dad goes "are you done yet? did that one hurt enough?" and I went and got 3 more done since.

Re: Tattoos
I'll be honest and say one of the reasons that I actually keep getting them done is the feeling I get between 5 and 30 mins after the tattoo is actually finished. During that time window my endorphins and andrenaline is at it's peak so I feel really good. I don't think I would have kept getting them if I was just hurting for the 2 to 6 hours during the tattoo and no relief afterwards. I definitely wouldn't keep going into the most painful places on my body to get them done.
After I finish getting my right arm fully sleeved out I'll be getting my legs completely covered. The biggest open areas I have left are on the sides of my knees. Those areas are probably going to hurt like crazy. I won't be able to walk properly for a week after I get those done.
Once I'm done with my legs I want to fill in my chest and back. Some of the most pain I have ever been in was during my tall ship on the midle of my chest. The bottom of the ship is right where the sternum and ribs meet the diaphram. My back wasn't too bad except where the ribs ended and also right over the kidneys.

Re: Tattoos
That sounds awesome. I don't think I'm going to have my legs covered. Thigh tattoos just don't really appeal to me. I have one on my left calf and one on the outside of my right leg. I might add more someday but I don't think they'll go above my knee...
