The Ayatollah of Rock'n'Rolla ?
I've heard shim call Mark "The Ayatollah of Rock'n'Rolla" twice now. Is it an intentional reference to "Heartbreak Ridge"?

an ayatollah is a high ranking leader in some countries....he's basically just saying the best drummer in rock and roll =]

although....i'd never heard about that movie before but that is an exact quote from it...you could be right as shim is a huge movie buff

He uses that reference to Mark when they play Nothing Really Matters.

Mark is easily one of the more underated drummers today. He has a great ear for hooks, fills, and knows how to mix it up with some raw intensity. Anybody else think Travis Barker? One of his infulences maybe? I'll agree with Shim though. He's drumming defnetly comes out best on "Nothing Really Matters". Hell that whole album was amazing.
