Pictures with the band?

hey ya'll.

(first..my apologies if this is already a topic)

now, my question..
i went to the nutcracker event in peoria, illinois this past weekend, and as usual, the band was in the lobby afterwards signing merchandise. (which rocks)..
but this is the second time i've been to a concert and the person that was "in charge" hovering around them was telling all of us no pictures. i'm just curious..i've noticed a lot of you have pictures with shim..how do you get them?!

i thought about telling shim that this was the second time my boyfriend and i drove 3 and a half hours to see them, and that we've bought a bunch of merch, all their cd's, and we always talk them up to our friends..but i didn't want to sound dumb and expecting.. so i never mentioned anything.
it was just a little disappointing because i was dying for a picture!

so..how did you all get so lucky??

Being in the right place at the right time?

Honestly, they don't have much time. Many times they go from one city to another and after a set they simply can't hang out. If they aren't headlining then they are not allowed to be out signing and taking pictures when another band is playing. If they are headlining the venue is trying to get people out so they can clean/close/go home. Plus the travel is insane! Often times they are driving all night to the next city.

Jami's right. I'm fortunate in that I typically have pretty small shows and we really do get a lot of face time with the band(relatively speaking of course). I've only been to one show that was larger and it was a chore to just buy something and get it signed in the time they were able to be out with all the people wanting that autograph or picture. Just be patient your time will come I'm sure.

I saw them about 4 or 5 times before I managed to get a picture. Patience is key. You'll get one eventually.

That's right, I'm sure you'll get to get a pic with them eventually! I've been really lucky to have been to several small-ish shows where it's been pretty easy to get pics.

Yea it all depends on the size of the line and what time they have to be back on the bus. If they have the time, they WILL stick around for pictures. My last few shows I went to they had to leave pretty quickly. Just hang in there. You'll get one eventually.

i've been to 12 shows and i still don't have a pic with them...me and david took a pic with shim but i don't have it personally

Yep....right place right time......I was at one show where they could not even do a signing......headlining shows are ususally the best but as others stated too, it really just depends on how much time their tour schedule allows......They all love meeting us fans though and they definitely will whenever they can

I saw them in dubuque, iowa at the fair.. (3 summers ago i believe). and that was when i first had heard of them so i wasn't interested in a picture..
then in milwaukee, obviously..it's milwaukee.. lol.
and in peoria, that was probably the smallest one i've been to so far.. i never had the courage to ask for one..i should have.
oh well. maybe next time.
