Re: Polar Opposite!
So I called the Williston one and they don't have it either, but the one in Plattsburgh does, and while I don't know the city, it's the one I'm actually flying into.

Re: Polar Opposite!
This is just...
I can't even. After my first listen to I just sat there stunned for a good 5 minutes. I am absolutely blown away. The strings. Emma's singing...Just wow.
Also, we should try to get #PolarOpposite trending on twitter!

Re: Polar Opposite!
Here's my thoughts.
YGD is worth the $8 by itself. I can't say enough good things about how they redid this song. Only problem is they led off the album with this song, so the bar was raised too high for the other songs as a result.
As for the rest of the songs, it sounds like the Orchestra sections are really held back. I would have preferred them to be more prominent in the songs, but sometimes the Vocals would overpower them to the point of not being able to hear them at all. Plus when it came time to have a really awesome instrumental solo, it seems very reserved. It would seem to me that the Pupps actually wrote these sections and then had other musicians play them, which if thats the case, that's impressive, and makes me appreciate it more. Also they probably kept them as close as possible to how they play it acoustically, since they can't really have all those other musicians with them on tour. Plus i was thinkin of Metallica or Trans Siberia Orchestra when I thought of how this album might sound. Those are full blown orchestras, which isn't what is on this album.
Now who can Complain about Emma singing more!?!?! Not me, but it did urk me that she has been singing on Maybe live for awhile now, but they didn't have her sing on it on this album. Maybe already sounded the same to begin with, then to not have her singing on it, really bummed me out. Although I was alright after hearing Don't Walk Away
Only other thing I have to gripe about is putting So what I lied on here from the acoustic EP. If you're going to put that on, why not put on The Pretender too (prolly because it's a business decision, i.e. why buy the Acoustic EP when you could just get Polar Opposite). Also, All the Same didn't need to be on this album, I would have redone Survive like YGD was redone instead.
Don't get me wrong, I like this album, but it sounded rushed. It would be cool to see them redo all of Tri Polar, making the hard songs soft (like YGD) and making the soft songs hard (could you imagine a heavy version of White Balloons, CLASSIC!). Then just to stick with the theme of Polar Opposite, you do the track order backwords, that way you lead off with White Balloons!!!
My ranking of songs:
1) YGD
2) Riptide
3) Don't Walk away
4) Odd One
5) White Balloons
6) So what I lied
7) Maybe
8 ) All the Same

Re: Polar Opposite!
After searching the city of Memphis & suburbs for this, I finally found a Wal-Mart that actually had it. DEFINITELY worth the search!!! Love it, You're Going Down is AMAZING! Everything sounds great, right now I'm loving Don't Walk Away with Emma singing! AWESOME!

Re: Polar Opposite!
Omg even though I'm pretty sure YGD is the best track on there (too be honest I didn't expect to cause I've never fancied it acoustically) Don't Walk Away is a VERY close 2nd, the strings at the end are awesome.
