I want the word "love" in really small text on either my left hip, like on the side, or on my left rib cage. Can't decide..I'm also afraid to get one at the moment....

I just had the most wonderful 3 hours of my life. Getting my pelvis done wasn't as bad I as I thought it would have been. The only truly hard parts were when my tattoo artist was tattooing over my hip bones and also when she was tattooing on my bladder. The worst part was at the end when I really had to pee and she was shading in the middle of the shark. The part that I thought would hurt the most is the lower stomach since the upper stomach hurts a lot but it didn't really hurt at all. The only part that hurt any on my lower stomach is when she was near my belly button.

The most surprising for me at least is the fact that my tattoo artist never did a pelvic region before so I was kind of a guinea pig. She also only charged me my normal hourly rate so the tattoo was at least half of what I thought I would be paying in the end. I know most tattoo artists charge more for that region or just not do it at all.

The tattoo isn't done yet so I don't have a picture for it. I don't think it will be done until I get the two sea horses that will be on the outsides of my hips so the backgrounds of the sea horses and the shark can be done together.

I just got the outline of three seahorses done on my hips and also the back round. It took about 2.5 hours but it only cost me $200. My tattoo artist seems to keep finding reasons to reduce the amount I have to pay every time I go.

So I am currently working on my horror graveyard half sleeve because I ran out of ideas for my music sleeve and I'm really excited at the progree. I have on more session to finish and then I can work on the bottom half, which is going to be Alice in Wonderland themed.

My 18th birthday is coming up and I was planning on getting my first tat. So I wanted to ask the people with experience for any advice?

I was thinking something like this

So any advice or comments would be helpful.
Thanks

I'm not sure what type of advice I was expecting, anything that's good to know to prepare before I guess.

I was thinking of putting it on my foot but don't know if that is going to be a good idea. I wanted something simple for my first one in a place that could be easily covered for school. And is it better to go with a friend (none of mine have tats) or someone in my family (who has tats) or even by myself?

It looks like it might be too big for your foot. They have to make is a certain size so it doesn't look like a black smudge. The foot is one of the most painful spots because it is all bone. Think about someone jabbing a needle into your bone over and over for 2 hours. Red is a painful color too because they have to go over it so many time to get the color in. It get's very raw.

No problem. I'm sure others will have different things to add.

I was considering a yin yang variation that my brother drew a while ago, but I don't really know where I would put it.
