3 things I miss about Shim

Ok, so I haven't been a sp fan that long but I have looked into their older music and style's and etc. I found they stick to their guns :D and thats what I love however their are some things that have changed about shim that I miss.

1.those ripped jeans (come on girls.. those ripped jeans. cant deniy them. they were hot)

2.messy hair. (his hair is almost the same but a touch different. I love it now too but I got to admit I loved his messy hair) <--

3.the eyebrow piercing. (it seemed like thats part of what made him, him. almost like a trade mark.. like billy idol with his bleached spikey hair yanno. but I miss it. and even when he trippled it.. it looked awsome :D)

What do you miss about the band?

dont worry about that.. these things doesn't make any difference, you have to care about how better his voice and guitar skills gets in time. In Tri-Polar he just excelled himself, Shim is an awesome singer and player, don't care about the "look" things ^^

I agree with jessie...there are certain things that i miss about mr. shimon moore (ie the eyebrow piercings) and i miss mark's long hair

but i also agree with blister.. i like certain new things about the pups like theres a pic of shim and he was doing a concert and he was wearing a tie and a vest i call that getting his 'grown man' on

So, things i miss... Well, my top 5 songs are probably off of Dressed Up As Life. Each track on that album is in its best incarnation, and better than anything else on my mp3 player. Tripolar may be better as far as technique goes, but i still am more attached to DUAL. So, i am not sure if i can say exactly what it is that i miss, but there is definitely something...

^ i agree with you 100%... I like to call SP the soundtrack to my life because their songs play so well into my life its kind of scary. DUAL came that the perfect time in my life. it helped me understand myself a little more but i drifted more to Tri-polar because i dunno i guess you can say i have more of a connection with that than DUAL. Tri-polar... i dunno it kind feels like the soundtrack to the next phases or feelings in my life so would you say you a better connection to DUAL?
(sorry if it a little long  )

I have been thinking a lot about what you said ZangZadam31. I actually bought Tripolar before DUAL, and both purchases were about 5 months ago. I really really enjoy Tripolar - i fell in love with SP with that CD... but when i got DUAL, it blew me away. There are definitely songs on both CDs that relate to where i am right now, but there are also songs that relate to where i was 5, 10, 15 years ago, and some that are completely outside of my experience, but i feel like the story-telling on DUAL is more nuanced and vibrant than Tripolar.

Maybe it is the lyrics. (Compare: "It kills me what's in me's too angry for us to survive" vs "the leaver leaves the stayer stays" ) But i think it is more than that- I think they took more chances on DUAL. I personally felt like they worked, but overall it just feels edgier, less refined. I personally prefer it, but that is a matter of taste.

p.s. i love long replies and good discussion - i tend to be far too long-winded, so i really appreciate it.

Yeah, the cool thing about the Pups that they are constantly changing from major awesome to more major awesome. The rest of the people commenting are right, the only thing that matters is that they continue to improve their performance and continue to, of course, adore their fans and play some badass shows!!!

But, then again, totally with you, DUAL-era Shim with the eyebrow piercings and scruffy rocker look... Probably my fave Shim era. xD But he always has and never will stop being dead sexy, so it works out!!!

I kind of assumed that but with the internet you never know if someone is serious or not. I am so sarcastic sometimes that I find it irritating when I can't express that online
