30STM Guinness Record and Pups concert count

I heard on the radio today that 30 Seconds to Mars is going for a Guinness World Record for most shows performed during a single album cycle. Their last album was released December 2009, and on December 5 they will have performed 300 shows.


Now, the Pups released TriPolar in July 2009, and since then I count 330 shows (counting from 'tour dates' threads, not including those marked as cancelled).

You see where I'm going with this?

I think Sick Puppies have played more shows for Tri Polar than 30stm have played in support of This is War.

Somebody double check me, because I could very well be wrong. Either way, that's a lot of work! (Thanks you guys!)

I counted 381...O.o but maybe I miscounted somewhere because my vision went blurry a couple times. Either way, it's definitely more than 300, WAY more!

I'm going to the 30STM show in December and I thought the same thing about the Pups when I heard about that. I know SP has been touring TP since July 2009 and they have played more than 300. I guess they just never thought to do any sort of Guiness Book thing for it. I wonder if there is anything we can do?

Well, we can tell the Guinness people for starters. They have to verify all this stuff.

I wonder if it will matter that Polar Opposite came out during that time. There aren't any new songs so maybe not, but they may not qualify on a technicality.

I doubt it- they weren't touring for PO, plus it was an EP not a new album. Hopefully not.
