How did you first become a SP fan?

I remember hearing a War and You're Going Down on cable radio, then I heard they would be opening for a concert we were going to (Chevelle) so I decied to buy Tri-Polar. After they melted our faces off at the show, we ran out to get more, more, more...and have been following them ever since!

I heard the name "Sick Puppies" before I actually heard any of their songs.
My daughter has mentioned the name every time they came to our town, maybe she
was hoping that I get her a ticket to their show.
I didn't pay attention much back then....until I heard "Odd One" on a radio.

I immediately asked my daughter "Who's this? What's the song?" - Of course she rolled her eyes and like "I told you!!"

Since then she's my concert body.

Self discovery! I found Sick Puppies on YouTube one boring weekend afternoon. This was about a year ago, and I already have all of their CDs and EPs, and will soon be buying more off of their merch site. I re-bought CDs I already had just because they were autographed. I went to a show in May 2011 and they rocked!! Haha. I will be a fan of them for the rest of my life, I'm sure. Their meaningful, inspirational lyrics are not matched. Not even by Linkin Park, another favorite of mine. I am highly anticipating the new album they're going to work on in 2012. It's sure to be awesome like the last two. Sick Puppies for life!

Haha, I had a couple of ignored opportunities to discover and pursue them. In September-ish 09, I was chatting with a friend and he asked “do you know the band sick puppies?” I didn’t and he proceeded to tell me that they were cool and their bassist was hot (boys lol ) I forgot about the conversation though and didn’t find them until October 09, a little bit before I turned 13. I had pretty much just come out of my first relationship, which was also a mentally abusive one, so I was really hurting all the time. One day, I sat around and searched random words on the iTunes Store. I looked up love, and wasn't really attracted to anything. So then I looked up hate. I came upon I Hate You and I thought "Oh wow that's blunt. Who's it by?" My eyes scanned over to the artist and when I saw Sick Puppies I was like, "Haha that's an odd name. How's it sound?" I listened to the sample and really liked it, because it explained what I was feeling towards my ex. I got it, and then looked at some of the top downloads for the band and got My World and All the Same too. In December I got Pitiful. They all said how I felt and I loved them, but even though that same friend told me to listen to You’re Going Down last summer and I said I would, I forgot and didn’t pursue them.

Then in May this year, I went to Best Buy with my dad. I had been thinking about getting more of their music, so I looked for their CDs. I found Tri Polar with the cover with the band on it and my dad got it for me. I put it on my iPod and listened to it and loved it. Absolutely loved it! I started looking into them more and more. I got Dressed Up As Life in June and have been obsessed since haha

Wow, I didn't expect so many responses to this post. I'm new to the forums, after all. Anyway, I just came back to say I love reading all these stories - keep 'em coming! - and to elaborate on how awesome this band is to their fans, further explaining why I love them so much. Because really, it makes the desire to support a band you like that much stronger when you know you really like the people. It sucks to find out a band you like is made up of jerks in real life. Not the case here. I've been to three of their concerts (would be more but I live in areas they don't go to very often) and at every one, Shim makes a very big deal of the crowd getting to have a really great time and I love the energy he gives off. Not to mention, he's very supportive of the extraordinary talents his band-mates have as well. After all three of these shows, Shim has made a big deal out of how much he wants to meet every single person in the crowd, and I was able to accept two out of three of those opportunities.
Someone posted saying that the band is versatile? Totally true. There's not a situation or mood I get in where I can't listen to some of their songs. I love that, and unfortunately, that's rare.
I love this band; they rock. Not just their music, either. I really just love this band to pieces.

well just over this summer, I happened to see the Sick Puppies open for Motley Crue at Cheyenne Frontier Days. I had never even heard of them, let alone an actual song. I didn't have high expectations for them but right away I fell in love with the band. I've been listening to them ever since and I can't wait to take this journey with them to world domination.

i first heard them on the radio when they where new... i didn't know who they where so i looked... and searched for this wonderful new sound... that's how i became a fan of other rock bands too.... but i was always looking for the sick puppies... i didn't know their name till finally while watching music videos on yahoo.... i heard their first hit song (which i forgot the name of btw) from their first few years as a world hit band (or was it national when they first started?) i remember clicking the video over and over agin just to listen to it.... then i saw the name... sick puppies... then i listened to more of their songs... i didn't care much for their title.... i just cared for the meaning ing them... cuz their music is insperational!

I remember that my ex sent me a link to the free hugs video about 4-5 years ago and ever since then I followed the band online and loved their music.
