Introducing Jake Garbelotti, our fan of the week!

When did you first hear about the band?
I had actually never heard of the Sick Puppies until a friend of mine dragged me to a concert in 2010. In fact, it was the very first concert I ever went to in my life! My friend told me she wanted to see the Sick Puppies badly but didn't want to go alone, so I obliged. I heard my first Sick Puppies song that day on the way to the show when she played Maybe on her iPod to give a taste of what I was going to experience. Fast forward to the show, which was a headliner, and we were in the front row right in front of Shim and I had the time of my life! I couldn't believe how good the Pups were, especially for being live. Needless to say I raced home and bought all of the Sick Puppies music I could.

What is your favorite song?
My favorite Sick Puppies song is Odd One. No matter how many times I listen to it, the sound of the song and the build up to the chorus gives me goose bumps every single time. I was even more mesmerized when the Polar Opposite version was released and my love for the song was solidified. In addition, the message of the song really got to me as I’m out living on my own at a young age and no matter what everything is going to be ok!

I am a member, and my username is CoasterJake. More on that later!

If so, why did you decide to join?
I decided to join the forum so I would have somewhere not only to show my enthusiasm for the Sick Puppies and discuss the band with others, but to meet other people that love the same band I do! It has been awesome getting to say hello and hang out with other SPWC members at all of the shows I have been too, and one day soon I would love nothing more than to be an ambassador and do what I can to help and promote the band. On top of that, the forum is a great place to keep up to date with everything Sick Puppies, participate in cool contests, see awesome art and photography, and of course participate in all of the incredible exclusive content.

Where are you from?
I was born in Florida, but into a military family that moved all over the country. I have lived in 9 states and been to 45 of them to be exact! However I spent most of my life in San Antonio, Texas and now find myself a 3rd year resident of Orlando, Florida. When I graduated high school I moved out here on my own to attend the University of Central Florida and attempt to get into the industry I love (again, more on that later!).

Why do you love them?
Besides instantly falling in love with their live performance, two things about the Sick Puppies stand out to me. First of all, in my opinion they have the most unique sound I have ever heard. Every song is different and leaves me begging for more! To me, their music is simply epic. I have never in my life found a band that I can listen to over and over again and it never gets old. Secondly, the likeability of Shim, Mark, and Emma is second to none. They all have incredible personalities and connect with their fans like no one I have ever seen before. Being front row at every show I've been too, nothing tops the interaction with them in addition to all of the meet and greets post show, u-stream broadcasts, interviews, etc! Also, my girl friend also happens to be from Australia...I just seem to love them Aussies!

Fun Fact:
Other than the Sick Puppies, my biggest passion in life is the theme parks and roller coasters! This explains why my username is CoasterJake and why I am going to school in Orlando, the theme park capital of the world. I love to travel and as a result I have been to over 100 amusement parks and ridden 477 roller coasters as of this writing. ‘Maybe” one day I will be able to combine these two passions and travel the world riding coasters and following along with a Sick Puppies tour!
