Ridiculous pricing of pre-US CDs on eBay...

What is it with the ridiculous pricing of anything that was only released in Australia on eBay? I mean, I was going through old listings in eBay (that actually sold, keep that in mind) and saw that the Fly EP went for $472. You read that right, $472! Along with that, I've heard that a Rock Kids single went for over $400 as well and saw that Welcome to the Real World went for $266 (although that's not as bad as the other two). I mean, seriously, I get they're rare, but that's just stupid (no offsense to anyone that has bought these albums around the same price).

I know I'm using the most extreme cases here, as the CDs don't normally go for that much (and on a side note, I believe all of those listings were from 2008), I mean, I got the Fly EP for $15 on there, although that may have been a bit of luck as it's the only other Fly listing I've seen.

Honestly, what do you guys think reasonable prices of these CDs should be? I can only imagine if someone put a legitimate Dog's Breakfast EP up there...

It is supply and demand. While I would not pay $500 there are people who will.

I'm not sure but one of the "pre U.S." cds had something like less than 500 made. If you got Fly for 15 bucks then cherish the fact you did. And if you ever wanted to part with it I think you will see it was a good investment.

Would I personally pay that much? No.
Will others? Obviously. Its a question of how much money they have and how much money they're willing to spend.
Pre-DUAL CDs are extremely rare, and therefore expensive.
You got very lucky to buy Fly for only $15. Cherish that instead of teling others they overpaid for something that could mean the world to them.

haha, trust me, I cherish it. About a year of non-stop searching and it popped up when I refreshed the page, I almost shat a brick in excitement

I'm not trying to tell anyone they've overpaid for CDs that I know can mean the world to people and sorry if anyone takes it that way.

Also...beware of fakes! I'm sure there are reproductions out there. It would really be awful to spend hundreds on a fake.

Wow I can't imagine paying that much for a CD. I can however for instruments used by the artists themselves? I bought A snare drum off Mark a few years ago on ebay and I'm trying to sell it now because I got laid off and am trying to pay for going back to school. List price is actually what I paid for it.

I wish I could help you out but I can't even get a copy of those anymore.
We wanted to print them to sell to you guys but so far it was gonna cost us too much to get the masters to out old stuff. Hopefully that will change if the next record does well! But right now I guess we'll all have to wait.

I would hope once you guys are a bigger name in a couple years it'll be a good enough investment you can buy back the masters and net a profit.
