This past weekend there was a 2 day festival for local bands, the "Homedown Throwdown" at a fairly small venue in downtown Memphis. Zach Myers of Shinedown is from Memphis, and he's also in a band called The Fairwell with guys from various other bands (Ingram Hill, Saving Abel). They were awesome! Also, Brent Smith of Shinedown was there, and he and Zach did an AMAZING acoustic set. It was a really fun show!!!

I'm quite proud of Memphis for having something so cool here.

Going to see Bullet For My Valentine/Halestorm in Boise in April and Paramore in Salt Lake in May.

Not really a concert but also going to Ghost Hunters Live in Boise in March...don't judge, lol.

I'm going to Fall Out Boy! I am so excited, its a sold out show and me and a few friends are going instead of prom so were going to where dresses! It's gonna be great!

The only concert I've been to is Taylor Swift (don't hate I got floor tickets free of charge). When my friend and I got there our seats didn't exist so we got pit tickets for free along with a coupon on the over priced food. So I ended up getting a full meal for five bucks, a chance to stand in the pit at a concert, the ability to touch the stage, and to shake hands with Taylor Swift. I may not be a huge fan of her music but it was an incredible expirence.

Going to see Flyleaf and Drowning Pool tomorrow night! Even though I'm disappointed that Lacey left the band I'm still excited to see Flyleaf put on an exciting show.

Going to a Passion Pit concert tomorrow night, does anyone know what they're like live? When my mom and I were buying the globe trotters tickets for my brother we happened to see that they were going to be in town, so we figured since so few bands come to Eugene so infrequently, and since Christian really seems to enjoy 'take a walk', why not? It should be fun

Going to see The Nearly Deads on Saturday. Saw them open for Halestorm in January in Nashville. They are headlining their own tour right now that started today. It was supposed to be a co headlining tour but the other band was unable to do it at the last minute.

My son and I (he's 17) went to see Fall Out Boy feat. Panic at the Disco in September at the Barclays in Brooklyn. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! My son, who has been studying guitar for 4 years is pretty sure the guitar solo was not live. But Panic was great and so were Twenty One Pilots (the opening band). We enjoyed Panic so much that we're going to see their headlining tour at the Roseland Ballroom in Frbruary.

The last time I went to a concert that was a non SP show was the Bobaflex show at the Knitting factory in Boise, ID and let me tell you those guys can put on a show. If you have never seen them before, I would suggest giving them a try. I personally didn't leave disappointed.

Went to Like a Storm's acoustic show in Sioux Falls during their acoustic tour. Entirely too much fun seeing those boys all dressed up and sitting down, laughing and joking with each other.

Just got back from spending the weekend at Heavy Montreal Festival... two days of hard rock and metal in beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. It only rained once! And only for like 15 minutes, haha. Saw a ton of bands... Disturbed and Nightwish both brought tons of pyro, so that was amazing. Love pyro!

Bands I actually watched: Pop Evil, Fear Factory, Black Label Society, Nightwish, Five Finger Death Punch, I Prevail, Beartooth, We Came As Romans, Animals As Leaders, Killswitch Engage, I Prevail, Blind Guardian, Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Volbeat.



My next outing will be traveling all the way to Connecticut for the Revolution Rock Festival in September... finally going to see one of my "bucket list" bands... Twelve Foot Ninja. Been wanting to see them FOREVER. But they're from Australia and don't really tour where I can see them much. Yet, anyway.

2016 was a huge year for concerts for me. Started off seeing Adelita's Way & Through Fire in February. We saw Breaking Benjamin in March, Sick Puppies in May, Chicago Open Air in July, Breaking Benjamin in September, Sonic Boom in October, Sick Puppies 3 times in October, Breaking Benjamin in October, Shinedown with 5FDP & SIXX AM in November & Sick Puppies 3 more times in December.
Chicago Open Air & Sonic Boom had a lot of the same bands like Breaking Benjamin, Korn, Disturbed.. Sonic Boom seemed to have a lot more of the smaller bands you hear on Octane like I Prevail, Parkway Drive & they of course had Avenged Sevenfold. It was a good year.
We already have 2 Sick Puppies concerts for February in 2017!

It's going to take some brainstorming to recall all of the artists I have seen live but I AM going to see Pop Evil and Red Sun Rising Soon and you guys should all check out Never Say Die, I will post about them in another thread but if any of you liked My Darkest Days there are 2 former members in Never Say Due and they are great!
