Every month, we will be featuring an ambassador interview. BUT to kick off this new idea, we are proud to have a special interview this month. Hope you enjoy...it's worth the read!

Get ready to meet Sick Puppies merch guy, "G". On a 4 hour layover coming back to L.A. from SXSW, "G" had some spare time to sit down and do an interview with us...and you don't want to miss it!

1. How did you get involved with Sick Puppies?
Do you really want to know? It’s a long long story.

2. What is the most common question you get (asked?) at the merch table?
Buff Guy: How much are they?
G: THEY what? Individually? One of each, or are you trying to buy every single shirt I have in stock - $10,963.50 and I’ll throw in a free poster!
Buff Guy: No man, sorry I meant, how much is THAT one?
G: THAT one? Which THAT one? You mean the pink shirt?
Buff Guy: No man the black tee?
G: Ohhh sorry I thought you were shopping for your girlfriend. Ummmm which black shirt? I have like 20 different black shirts?

The point of the story, USE adjectives when buying merchandise - hell learn how to COMMUNICATE when you are talking to people in general! Be specific. And be ready to go when it’s finally your turn.

3. Who is your favorite Super Hero?
Batman. Fav power I would love to have if I could have one – unlimited power to teleport. No live forever, no teleport!

4. What's your most memorable moment at a show?
Too many to just list one, in no particular order:

1) Final night on tour with Shinedown – Prank Galore!
2) Omaha/Council Bluffs arena show – SP headline arena, 1st show with actual lighting production – so busy I didn’t see any of the show.
3) Countless karaoke nights.
4) Festivals where the merch signing was longer then their actual set.
5) The "The band that shall not be named" Debacle. Nuff said.

5. Boxers or Briefs?
Wouldn’t you like to know?

6. The best show on TV is...?
The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Dexter, 24 who can decide? Fav comedy: Friends.

7. What's the one thing you can't live without for the tour?
Air, ipod+stereo, water, food, laptop, internet access.

8. What's the one thing you CAN live without on tour?
Bills? The news. Hard to answer this question for some reason.

9. Favorite food?
If it’s got lots of cheese, chances are I probably love it.

10. Hobbies outside of work?
Not at liberty to say.

11. Besides Sick Puppies, what other artists are you in to?
Who said I was into SP? Lol ? NIN, HTDA, Depeche Mode among others.

12. What(s) in your CD player/playing on your iPod right now?
How To Destroy Angels: Welcome to Oblivion.

13. What other fan interactions do you have while on the road?
? The plutonic kind?

14. Why The Hardrock Cafe?
Cause they have my favorite drink: Southern Rock. It’s kind of like a Long Island ice tea but better. I was never a fan of Long Island drinks, but Southern Rocks are tasty. The food there is ok and their menu isn’t really that big, but I do like looking around at all the memorabilia they have on their walls – they are like museums!

15. Any other nicknames besides G?
It varies from tour to tour but that’s one of the one’s that has stuck. Occasionally I’ll hear “asshole” from a fan or two epecially If I’m strict with the merch singing.

16. Beverage of choice?
Southern Rock! Jagger Bombs. Riesling.

17. What would you be doing if you were not SP Merch?
Unemployed.

18. What do Ambassadors do at SP shows to help you?
Shoulder massages and free drinks – it’s the best working relationship ever.

19. What other band merch table has impressed you?
Good question. It always surprises me when a band doesn’t have any merchandise (and they are well know) or has very little of it (one or two designs), or it’s a horrible design. I hate bad vendor(s) – what makes them bad … sloppy display, disorganized, bad attitude. Maybe I’m a tough critic, but I can’t think of one band that has floored me with their overall table.


20. Who would like to tour with that you haven't yet?
Nine Inch Nails, How To Destroy Angels, Depeche Mode duh!

21. What else do you do to help the band while not at merch?.
Depends. Besides babysit? I’m their art director, so anything that has to do with art, I usually handle. Creating flyers (Tweak shoes didn’t make those flyers, I had to), coming up with merch designs, laminates, posters, stage art, bus wraps, the only thing I don’t get to do is the album art which the label does. I also have a background it film making so by default you see me taking lots of pics and vids … and naturally ton of them end up on SP’s social media. A lot of those vids that you’ve seen of SP saying hi to fans or back stage or from the stage are probably from my cameras.
